UEFA lift ban on 15:00 tv blackout

If football is re started behind closed doors the government will have a very hard time justifying why others can’t go and play football at a park or on an Astro whilst allowing professionals to do so. Allowing this would probably result in many starting to ignore lockdown rules

Excellent point

Spot on. Without TV and sponsor money they are all phucked. I posted yesterday that it was a 2 hour wait to cancell Sky Sports people are chucking it in tens of thousands all over the world.

you can pause your subscription online.

TV companies showing their greed, it's all about money, they will be making these decisions from the safety of their homes while demanding that the games go ahead behind closed doors, they don't care that the players and their families might suffer from this deadly virus.

wtf are you living in a cave ffs
NO sport will be played untill August at the earliest imo
Nope, just realistic about the situation and the power of money as well as keeping an economically inactive and irate population occupied.

Whilst it will likely be behind closed doors there will be a push to get these leagues completed. Life goes on - football will as well. The worst of the (first wave) virus will have passed by the end of April in the UK, people will have to start becoming economically active again. Closed doors football between May - August is a definite possibility

IF a football is started back and People cant visit their old man etc then I would expect extreme civil unrest in all honesty

Even if the worst of the virus has passed by the end of April, there is no way this lockdown is being lifted by then.

Social distancing will still be going on, so how would football get played?

If you go within 2m of another player, it’s a free kick?

Footballers are still employees and the employers have a duty of care which would be to follow government advice.

At this point, I couldn’t really give a shit whether this season is completed, there are far more important things to worry about.

And as for your comment that life goes on? Unfortunately for many people just now it really doesn’t.

Stay safe mate!

Who was it that told you the worst of this (first wave) virus will have passed by the end of April in the UK ?

Or is that just your own opinion ?

All the news reports, expert predictions and so on are pretty clear and unanimous on the peak happening this week sometime bud, it will still hardly be ‘normal’ and all positivity and laughter for the rest of the month - there will be many more deaths sadly but we will be on the downward slope at least.

Here’s a few links a quick google throws up, plenty more of a similar date approximately around Easter as well

Sadly this is the case for too many people certainly, but for the majority life will go on and people will need to become economically active again sometime as well as having outlets of enjoyment and expression beyond the four walls of their house.

Footballers will be tested prior to any restart of season getting off the ground you’d have to imagine, and this ‘2m social distancing’ recommendation won’t exist forever and exceptions will have to be made. Maybe in shops and crowded places, but a football pitch where you have 25 people playing and officiating across the dimensions of a standard pitch is a different scenario entirely to the local Morrison’s or Asda or going to an indoors event.

Like everything no one knows and a lot of what we say - and even the politicians and experts - are based on hunches, inferences and being either erring on side of doom and fear so as to convey how serious this is to a public which haven’t experienced anything like this before (perhaps the HK flu of 1968-71 excepted) or those who are desperate for reality to return sooner than later (I’m more in this camp obviously!) and don’t grasp the severity of it all.

All I do know is I don’t want those 19th Century Terrorist tramps being awarded the title by default
