Valverde sacked from Barcelona

Ex Betis and Las Palmas manager in.

Nope never heard of him either.

Koeman said he’d take it after the Euros.
Xavi said he didn’t want it, yet.

What a strange move by Barcelona!

Think there would be mangers jumping through fire to get this! Maybe more of a basket case of a board than we realise

Barcelona Real Madrid massive clubs who have no long term planning with regards to mangers you can win champions league and be sacked for not winning every game or not playing in a style that the fans expect .

Guy's a fraud

You've got a several hundred million euro budget and the one of the greatest ever players at your disposal n the end of two of the most humiliating upsets in Champions League knockout history two years in a row, one of which at the hands of certified baller Divock Origi

He should've been out on his arse after that Liverpool game

He doesn’t sign the players to be fair and they’re defence is gash

Two and a half year contract. Contract can be broken for no compensation after 6 months and 18 months.

In other words, Koeman will be the manager after the Euro's in 6 months.

No idea who the new guy is at all but it's a strange signing. You would think people would be jumping at the chance to manage Barca.

Barca’s board are morons. They didn’t see fit to fire him after two of the most embarrassing collapses the Champions League has ever seen, but they see go to sack him after a Spanish super cup loss? Mugs, should have been done after Liverpool.

Why don’t they just go for a top manager instead of being pretentious pricks and going for less fancied managers or ex players? For all his success Messi has really only played under one or two elite managers in his entire career.

They’re still doing well but the squad is probably six to eighteen months away from needing a big overhaul.

Apparently the new manager has the same sort of 'Cruyff' philosophy so that'll suit them well...until the summer.

I think there are bigger problems than just the manager though. The board are a shambles and some of the signings in recent years are extremely short sighted.

Valverde was too reliant on Messi and hadn't a clue how to get the best out of players. Dembele, Coutinho, Rakitic, De Jong (although still settling), Greizmann.

Quique Setién's Betis side played some cracking football, just lacked quality in attacking areas.

Will be interesting to see how he gets on at the Camp Nou?
