Dutch football expert on Talksport last night talking about it and said the chances of them losing their licence to play next season was very high. Already facing relegation after an 18pts point deduction.

The more money in the game the more it seems to be getting ruined.

What's the story there? They're a Chelsea feeder club. Have they fucked them right over?
From what I could gather Abramovic basically owned the club but they were lying that he didn’t. The guy that fronted it would travel to London monthly for meetings with him and now the authorities have proof of it having never been able to prove it before.

The Dutch guy last night said they had a great season one of the years and we’re going to get CL football and all of a sudden their form dived off a cliff but in reality they were told by Roman to lose so they didn’t end up in the CL alongside Chelsea and be looked into by UEFA.

Not looking easy.

NOS saying the following needs to be achieved:

  • Getting out of Russian hands
  • Resolve €18.9 million debt
  • Certainty of a bank account next season
  • A signed financial statement by an auditor
  • Appoint a new supervisory board
  • Establish a new foundation board

Don't they have ties to Chelsea? Might've been pre Todd Boehly.
Roman Abrahmovic basically owned the club and was getting associates to appear as if it were them that owned it. They were investigated but they could never prove that was the case. Leaked information and a money trail back to RA have now gave the Dutch Authorities the proof that they were right all along.

Produced one of the best ever football shirts in tribute to the 1st Airborne Division a few years ago.

Ooft, all news to me. Poor supporters, the money men won't suffer one bit.

they still believe he is involved. Hundreds of millions, war in Ukraine just forced matters to this point it seems as well.

Oyf owns Vitesse directly but used an offshore company called Matteson Overseas Ltd to provide the club with funding and financial guarantees. Leaked documents seen by TBIJ show that while Oyf officially owns Matteson, its funding came from Abramovich. The oligarch almost entirely bankrolled Matteson, and his employees set up and ran its day-to-day operations. Jersey-registered Matteson also shares a nominee director with several of Abramovich’s companies.

Abramovich’s companies loaned Matteson nearly $200m, which was then almost entirely invested in other entities linked to the oligarch and his asset management company, Millhouse Capital. Profits generated were used to pay off loan debt and fund further ventures, including Vitesse.

The latest documents, part of the Cyprus Confidential files shared by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists and Paper Trail Media, reveal that Abramovich was also the source of virtually all the money used to fund Vitesse by its current owner, Valery Oyf.
