Decent viewing.

Lambert had been booked I believe and puts Albertz up in the air in the box. Penalty given. Lambert escorted off by the physio minus some teeth.

Why wasn't he shown a second yellow then red?

Kenny Clark was the ref which might explain it.

Blatant cheating if I'm remembering this correctly.

Even back then they were at it.

The stretcher saved him, along with Kenny Clark as you say.

The red should have been flashed as soon as Albertz went down. I was only 13 at the time but I am sure I remember Advocaat highlighting this either at the time or in his post match interview. It was also parodied on Only an Excuse that year so I may be getting mixed up.

watching the gazza documentary on his switch to Ibrox last night and the the shite our players have to put up with from the press hasnt changed since then either.

That Kenny Clarke who said he did his best not to send off tlb in a game at Ibrox.
You're maybe thinking of when Clarke reffed their defeat by Clyde when Kenny "did everything he could to keep Celtic from going out" according to Patrick Barclay in the Telegraph.

As you would expect from our scum press, that situation was turned around to make out that DA was trying to get the rhat a red card, when the rules dictated it should have been anyway.

And apart from Amato's 'arrow' celebration, I remember JJ had a corker of a shot early doors batter off the underside early doors.

My first ever old firm game - I remember going mental at the time that he should have been red carded as he was stretchered off

If I remember correctly
Am sure I do
Big Jorge simply rode the tackle knowing he was going to plant his leg on Lambert's coupon
Which he is to great effect
Brilliant Jorgey boy

What about when Stewart Kerr just ran out and deliberately hand balled outside the box when already on a yellow?

As i repeatedly say, this is the most incompetent worldwide Masonic conspiracy in history.

As someone who has viewed this incident with great pleasure many, many times, I think the ref got it completely wrong.
Lambert had gone to ground very early and was sliding past Albertz, as he is passing Albertz with no contact whatsoever, Jorg knelt forward and offered a "bite that ya bastard" knee. Utterly disgraceful behavior, foul to Celtc and red card to Albertz.

Maybe I'm imagining things but if you look at the penalty again, it looks as though Clarke is reaching into his pocket for a card.

As I said maybe I've imagined it.

Butterfingers Gould

The highlights managed not to show any of the bookings although Archie did refer to them. Stubbs must have been 'lucky' to stay on the pitch.

That’s exactly how the tims mentioned the incident afterwards. They were robbed due to this mistake!
