West ham

I've mentioned it before. They have an incredible set of fans.

Not won a thing since 1980 and yet they are regularly getting crowds of 60,000.

Not many clubs in world football would have that sort of support. Fair play.

I like West Ham, good club, proud history etc... but Karren Brady is a cow, and the other 2 clowns that run that club are shady as f@%k. So I kind of want them to do well, and kind of want them to spectacularly fail...
My sentiments exactly
They used to have a decent home advantage at the old Upton Park as the fans were so close to the pitch.
They could hardly be any further away now.
Crazy decision moving there

Used to really like them, always saw them as a down to earth "community" club for the people of the east end. I think they've lost alot of that after the stadium move. I understand why they did it, but give me an old fashioned stadium and atmosphere and a club with a bit of soul over £ any day.

Moyes will get them enough points to stay up which is all they really care about.

It is borderline. They should have the team to stay up but Moyes is a dinosaur.

I could see them going down, I didn’t realize they were so precarious, they are massive under-achievers when you look at their income.

I had a season ticket for a few years and when i gave it up, i still made frequent trips down for games at the Boleyn. Since they moved, i have been to a hand full of games at most. The new Stadium is soulless. At the old Stadium, the bars around the area were great before and after games, and made for a great day out, you just dont get that in Startford. The match day experience is poor.
As for Moyes, he will keep them up, but thats about it. Pellegrini was an exspense gamble that failed.
The fans deserve more after all the promises the Board made when moving.

Ì don't know an awful lot about it but did they not give Peligrini a load of money to spend. They were also a tad unlucky with the first choice keeper getting injured. When it's purely a case of staying up a dinosaur is usually what they go for. Tony Pulllis made millions out of it.

Terrible team at the moment, lot of focus on the owners, stadium is a joke, very average expensive foreign players...the squad needs a complete overhaul and get back to a good core of young British guys like they had before with cole, lampard, carrick, defo, etc...that’s when they used to be half decent
How many teams in the premier league need a complete squad overhaul. So many of these teams are getting ruined from owners/directors and half the fans don’t care as they see their teams splashing a load of cash on average at best players

They are a good example of what is going to f88k up a lot of ‘big’ clubs in England.
For ages we’ve been hearing the EPL bubble will burst and teams will disappear in the fallout.

That won’t happen anytime soon but a few clubs are going to be truly ruined by opportunistic people running them who will just harvest TV money for as long as possible without giving any sort of f88k about the team, club or supporters.

May seem hyperbolic to say but I actually think Man Utd are finding themselves in this situation, albeit with a far greater bank of resources to fall back on compared to West Ham which masks the overall trend of decline to an extent.

West Ham died the day they left Upton Park.

The owners have basically stolen/murdered the club, god knows how much they made with the land they gained from the old ground but thankfully the disguise of the shiny new stadium isn't enough to pull the wool over the eyes of real football fans.

Everything is geared towards PL/Sky commercialism, slapping LONDON on the crest to attract tourists was absolutely shameless. They only care about surviving so they can continue to sell the authentic premier league matchday experience while the real fans have been absolutely shafted.

Moyes has been tasked to keep them up and that's it. Hes got a 2 year deal to make up for him getting binned off lastt time, but you can guarantee he will be binned as soon as the opportunity for a celebrity name is available to keep the tourist attraction up. Probably Rafa either this summer or next.

My in-laws are all life-long Hammers. I wouldn’t say they have chucked it but most of them seem to almost be past the angry / annoyed stage and are verging on being indifferent.
That should be even more worrying for the club if it is replicated among a fair proportion of the support.

I know the stadium move hasn’t suited them at all. But they have definitely backed their managers with decent spending power, and on paper a lot of the signings were impressive but for some reason, when you watch them it looks so disjointed with no team harmony at all, almost like the players don’t like or know each other.

I thought Pelligrini would’ve been a great appointment for them but they seemed to go back the way.

They'll survive this season, but can't see Moyes sticking around for the long term. Don't think their fans will accept it, and the clowns upstairs won't accept it either if they have a few bad results and the pressure is on.

Used to live in the East End, soft spot for the Hammers- a lot of pro Rangers among their support.
Huge fan base, traditional club with scumbag owners.

Lost their identity a bit when they moved. Theres no fear for teams going to a tourist stadium with little fan pressure regardless of the capacity

Isn’t payet linked with going back there, heard that mess the moose crying on talksport the other day about it

Always had a soft spot for West Ham. They are fast becoming one of those pointless teams though in the EPL who do nothing. Will never get near the title. Rarely get near European places, flirt with relegation but always get a couple wins near the end of the season to escape. Basically just making up the numbers.

My mate’s dad ran the youth academy there for 30 odd years , producing some great players. He was treated very badly when the new owners came in .

They will stay up.

There are at least 3 teams even worse than them.

Thing about the stadium is that it made sense. Its easy to say its a screw up but teams were fighting each other to take it over. One of the reason the owners of Man City bought them because the stadium was already in place.
Its not worked out but longer term, it might prove to be the best thing for the club.

Just watched the highlights from the Leicester game there they are balls! And that is being nice, I don't think they have been the same team since they moved stadium they are loosing everything that west ham we're.

Who can they bring in to make them decent, I think they need multiple players only thing you would need to be not the full shilling to move to them at the moment.
I really think they will go down not unless they spend a lot of money but they just might buy panic buys which will do them no good

West ham have always been a mid table English club.
They should of just put another tier on upton park.

Shocking amount of money wasted

The club of the people of East London which now totally soulless after move to new stadium
Yup. Spurs were raging at the deal that allowed them use of a brand new stadium for only a few mill a year. They needn't have worried by the looks of it.

I'd agree, not the same since they moved from the Bowlyn, sadly lost a lot of their identity with the move to the London stadium

The move away from Upton Park killed them. Home advantage gone and don't have the players

Knocked out the Cup at home to West Bromwich and with the run of league games coming up, I can see relegation beckoning.
