What qualifies our DoF to appoint manager?

Not having a go at him, he’s just in the door and I hope he’s doing some good work behind the scenes.

Add to that the fact the board made a total arse of last appointment.

But, I keep reading that people hope he has a list of replacements ready. He’s came from Man City’s Academy, won’t know much about us or the league or being part of any process to appoint someone.

Nothing wrong with him having an opinion on it and putting it forward same as others at club, but shouldn’t be in charge of this appointment for me. In the future yes, he should have long term plan and list of future managers is part of that. No point in having one if we aren’t doing role properly.

But he’s inexperienced in the role and too new to club for me.

The recruitment process will be exactly the same as before. The executive board, which now includes the DoF, will conduct the recruitment process. Out of the process they will recommend a candidate to the main board for their ratification.

the dof knows more about football than the board does.

The board are business men who know how to run the business not so much how to appoint football managers.

I think they brought in a dof as they realised they have been making mistakes or not making the best decisions when it came to the football side of things, so like all good business men they bring in someone who specialises in an area to advise them in that area.
