The midfield onwards was really good for Leeds but their defence and goalie were nothing great.
 
The Leeds team would for me.

I trust that back 4 more than the Parma back 4.

Hateley and McCoist is Hateley and McCoist, doesn’t get better than them in 92/93.

Central midfield would be an interesting battle Ferguson and Van Bronckhurst edging it on quality but I’d fancy McCall and Fergie to put the brakes on them through sheer determination and work rate.

I thought the Valencia side we played are the best team I've seen us play. They were outstanding.

Answer to the question McCoist scores a last minute winner for the 92 side.
 
The Advocaat team would play the Smith team off the park.
Then the Smith team would find a way to win.
 
That Walter team was my first Rangers team.

That’s crazy that two of Advoccat’s best players,Numan & Albertz didn’t start v Parma.

Not too sure about the playing off the park aspect.

I would say Trevor Steven and Ian Durrant though neither at their absolute peak were still absolute Rolls Royce footballers in 92/93. Better players than Reyna and McCann. Gio and Barry would have the technical edge in central midfield but McCall and Fergie would have the bite.

A closely contested affair I don’t think Smith’s team would be played off the park by any means.

Vidmar who to be fair had the game of his life that day might struggle big time up against a class act like Steven.

A lot of interesting contests all over the park. Bomber and Gough would have their hands full with Mols no doubt about it but they’d find a way. I don’t think Amo and Moore would get the better of Hateley and McCoist!

The Advocaat team were far better at keeping possession and moved the ball quicker.
The Smith team had better ball winners and got the ball forward much faster.

I honestly think the 99 team would dominate possession but the Smith team had the edge in mentality and defensive strength. And a much more deadly strike pairing.

Fair points, but I don’t think Smith’s team would let them play the natural game they liked to play under Advocaat which was certainly a joy to watch in full flow.

McCall and Fergie were no slouches back then they wouldn’t be allowing Barry and Gio the sort of space and time on the ball Parma allowed them.
 
1992-93 is by a distance the best Rangers team I have seen.

Treble winners

Undefeated in European campaign against the very best teams in European football

Beat the English champions home and away.

Leeds has been unbeaten at Elland Road for something like 18 months.
