CELTIC Football Club has today issued a statement in response to the introduction of legislation by the Scottish Government on the Offensive Behaviour at Football and Threatening Communications (Scotland) Bill.

Celtic Football Club Chief Executive, Peter Lawwell, commented: “Celtic Football Club welcomes the introduction of this legislation. The issues it seeks to address are problems for society as a whole and not just football.

"The type of behaviour intended to be covered by this legislation has no place anywhere in Scottish society."

They even had their own lawyer in on it. They really thought they’d cracked it at the time and how they’ve re-written history (usual fae the usual) on it it’s hilarious.

I was writing a dissertation on Sectarianism in Scotland for my Adv. Higher Mod. Stud. class and their attitudes when I was writing that were very different to now.

Cheers, mate.

Fùck me sideways!

In the same statement, they acknowledge it's a societal problem, admit this behaviour has no place anywhere but welcomed laws that would be applied solely to football fans?

I suppose the get out for them is that they're not really a football club.
That's just a front for bigotry, terrorism and child abuse.

Aaaaaaaaahahahahahaha

GIRFUY Timmy

It was only when they discovered that the legislation was not solely intended for Rangers supporters that they did their U turn!
Correct! They genuinely believed that it would only affect Rangers and they were literally bewildered when their own lot got dug up for it.
Then they set up that mob FAC to fight against it on behalf of “all” cough, cough clubs in Scotland. You couldn’t mark their neck with a blow torch.

The Japanese cvnt was right

I would be quite confident in saying no other club in world football has the power to bring in acts of law against bigotry and then get them repealed when they are found to be the worse offenders
It’s quite disturbing the powers these bigots have in Scotland

Can't wait until they are closed down for good

This was the follow up to the "Old Firm Shame Game" summit with the the two chubby liars and Bain?

Check the fxxking state of Salmond - sucking up the photo opportunity oblivious to the hint of a smirk on Liewells face behind which the wheels are rapidly turning how he can spin this to his advantage. And Bain......just being Bain.

Don't hold your breath that will never happen.
The Governments stand on not investigating football or religeous institutions says enough. Put that with cheap loans from the Coop. Getting Ground around Porkhead. Getting Lennoxtown for the price of a terraced house and getting Porkhead done up with taxpayers money from the Commenwealth games. That must tell you the political muscle behind them is far too strong. It would not even surprise me if the taxpayer has to foot the bill for any guilty verdicts on their side.

They welcomed it because they thought the NATsis were on their side, because the tàrrier infested mhedia’s blanket negative coverage of our songs while their songbook and support of a terrorist group was ignored to keep Unckie Pete happy, and that it would never effect them only us

Then one of them learned to read and told the rest we might’ve fucked up here. So the brakes got tapped on support and they went into crisis we must condemn this legislation mode

If you don’t want to play the game then don’t make up the rules springs to mind. They thought this would be a one way street and once it came back and big them on the arse they wanted it gone

No comment on bottles no comment on orange bastards

Celtic are shameless

The problem was that the legislation was drafted by an idiot and on the back of a fag packet. Then after it was rushed through parliament, Strathclyde Police set up FOCUS which was inhabited by individuals from the old Gangs Task Force. This unit was designed for retrospective enquiry for wee neds cutting about Glasgow at the weekend tooled up and caught on public space CCTV.

Now, instead of education, they start rattling and going through doors at 5 in the morning, normally young kids/men for singing a daft song. These cops didn't have the brains for trying to be a bit more lenient or indeed compassionate.

The vast majority of arrests were Rangers supporters because some of the songbook were more in your face, rather than the IRA glorifying of the Tims. Police were too stupid to know what was being sung but some got the jail hence she became involved.
