When Timmy cut his season ticket prices by £100 when we got relegated what were his excuses?

They certainly managed to fill their allocation when we played (and beat) them at hampden though.

Rewarding them in exchange for remembering to have a wash before going to parkhead?

We know it was that but they gave some other excuse. It's driving me mental that I can't remember what it was!

Wasn’t it said at the time that they were not sure how it was all going to pan out and didn’t know who the 12th team would be. It turned out to be Dundee , that game was not on their season book. So only 20,000 or so turned up :))

It was a simple supply and demand issue.

There was plenty to supply and very little demand.

They needed to drop it more, they were regularly playing games in front of about 10-15,000 judging by the reports live from their ground during Soccer Saturday.

Yes, recall seeing a live match updatet where the reporter is not allowed to show the pitch and the angle they chose had many many 1000's of empty seats in view and addition to the big top deck tarps.

Anyway - before it goes off-track. Back to my main question.

What was their excuse for the price drop?

Here's one classic excuse I found from 2015. Nothing to do with no box office Rangers in town.
Apparently "Scottish Football is experiencing difficult times". :D

Celtic reveal £2million cut-price season ticket reward for fans as Bhoys pledge giveaway for third year running

THE average season book for next year will be the same as 10 years ago and will include a range of new benefits such as access to the first European match.

Celtic are to reward their fans for a third straight year.

CELTIC last night revealed another £2million-plus giveaway to their fans.

They have pledged to reward their supporters for continued backing by offering cut-price season tickets for a third straight year.

Having cut prices by as much as £100 for the last two terms, Celtic are again offering a discount for 2015-16. While there will be an increase on adult season books from last year, Record Sport understands the standard season ticket will still feature a £50 reduction on prices from three seasons ago.

Next term, the club’s average season book price will be the same as it was in season 2005-2006. Child prices remain unchanged from last year.

More news from Parkhead

In addition, season tickets will include a range of new benefits such as access to the first European match of next term as well as two free tickets for friends or family over the season.

A Celtic insider said: “There is no doubt the Scottish game is continuing to experience difficult times but through the club’s careful management we have been able to do all we can to keep prices as low as possible.

“We have given back £8m in reductions over the last two years. At the same time, as ever, we aim continually to improve the team, hopefully strengthen our squad and bring our fans the success they deserve.

Apparently they sold 42,000 season tickets each season we were away from the top league (lies) then they offered all season ticket holders a chance to bring 2 friends to a match. If my maths is right then there would have been 126,000 fans at parkhead if every one took up the offer.
Total bullshit

With so many empty seats on match day at present can the Club not allocate these to good causes, school and youth groups and community projects?

The Club, for a considerable while, has provided free tickets to most domestic matches for various groups and worthy/good causes. This work has been stepped up in recent months since the Celtic Charity Fund and the Club’s Foundation department merged to become a new charity known as Celtic FC Foundation. Charity and helping in the local community and beyond is a massive focus point for everyone at Celtic.

In addition to the regular visitors we bring in through the Celtic Learning Centre, which sits within Celtic FC Foundation, we have had on average 150 other people at each domestic match so far in season 2013/14. These people have come from all walks of life but are consistent with the charity’s four main values of Improving Health, Ensuring Equality, Providing Education and Tackling Poverty.

Was it for dug jabs so they could take their pets to the game?

Got laugh at some of them shelling out for 4 years of ST's, not attending any games just to guarantee a seat v us.
£50 quid more like 2 grand to see the Rangers.

They couldn't give tickets away in parts of the 90s and are already talking about another boycott if Rangers win the league this season.

Could well be their lowest average attendance for 25 years next season. They'll need a lot more than a £100 discount to fill the knewcamp soon.
