When will Rangers Foreign Players return to Scotland

Given that Scottish clubs might be returning to training mid June, should our foreign players be returning to Glasgow now.
Will they have to self isolate for fourteen days when they do return?

The club will definitely want them self isolating even if it isnt a legal requirement. Last thing they would want is someone picking up coronavirus on a flight and spreading it among players or other club employees.

I would think that with the league being called on Monday there will be no reason to be back until pre-season is scheduled in whatever form that takes. Any player outwith the UK would need to be back in the country 2 weeks before that started.

The two week isolation thing will cause chaos

How do European teams come to play in UK for Euro Qualifiers etc ?

Likewise if we go away for a tie on say a Tuesday - we will not be able to play a league game for at least two weeks.

Football will NOT work like this

Should be looking at getting them back as quickly as possible as anyone coming in from abroad will have to isolate for 14 days from 8th of June. Need to make sure that we have full squad available for when training resumes as wouldn’t like to think that some players would be ahead of others in basically what will be pre season.

The 2 week self-quarantine won’t - hopefully - last too long into the summer and likely not even July.

But as others have said there aren’t many flights going anywhere just now. And the longer the 14 days self-quarantine remains in place the longer it will take for airlines to start forward planning and getting operations and routes back up and running again.

A shitshow this

Got to agree with this, they’ve had plenty of time in their respective home countries therefore it’a time to get back to Scotland and prepare for next season.

Re Columbia I’d imagine it wouldn’t be too difficult to get a private jet to the nearest neighbouring country flying direct to UK, although this may take a bit longer than other countries where travel is more freely available.

Looks like most of Colombia’s neighbours have done the same. Argentina, Peru etc. Not sure a private jet out of Colombia would be allowed. Colombia have also stopped internal commercial flights.

What a shit-show.

Probably only last 2 weeks

If training is to start on 10 June, as has been mooted, our overseas players simply need to make sure they are back in the country before 8 June, when the quarantine regulation comes in.

Alfie, and the lack of international flights from Colombia until 1 Sep, is a whole lot messier.

Alfie will also have to think about how his wife and wee new baby if they would come back over here with him or stay in Colombia .

Id imagine by the end of may they will need to be thinking about being back in glasgow, 14 days self isolating and then into pre season mid june

Only way out might be by vehicle to Venezuela. Long journey though, and possibly dangerous. That’s if the private jet option for the same journey is ruled out - as seems likely.

I wonder, with Alfredo’s Mrs having just had the baby, if he might be hesitant to come back right now or if any other players might be worried about flying, socially distant training etc.

Kante at Chelsea said he’s uncomfortable coming back right now, which is the player’s prerogative surely in these times?

There’s surely no way the club would have its prized asset making a detour through the lawless badlands around the Colombian / Venezuela border and even Venezuela/Caracas itself is a place teetering on the brink with the collapse of their economy and law and order.

I reckon Morelos is stuck there until things start to open up again sadly. If only we had a benevolent owner who had a private jet again  Or on second thoughts given the legacy left in the wake of the last such owner, maybe not!

I’m sure Doncaster and co. will be on the case as we speak in finding a solution to this. SPFL airlines will be in the skies soon ensuring the integrity of the completion by re-patriating all players to their clubs before the KO.
