Who do you think the were the subs Beale was critical off after the game

Just takes a few seconds longer than he has to before making his pass and then often the best option is lost.
Is Jack not the same. Lost count of how many times yesterday when the quick ball is on and we take 5 short passes when 1 would do the trick.

I think it’s a lack of bravery.

Gerrard spoke of it before, that they need to take more risks in their decision making, especially against stubborn ten man defensive units like we faced on Saturday, which is probably about 75% of the games we play domestically.

So rather than play an incisive forward pass that has a higher percentage of failure, we instead tend to play a safer pass to an unmarked team mate which has the effect of firstly recycling possession, but also passing responsibility elsewhere.

Once we get into this loop it seems hard to get out of with the end result usually being a cross ball from Tav or Barisic, which if they have no other qualities to speak of these sides tend to be constructed to cope with those at least.

The introduction of Cantwell and Raskin is surely to give us some extra individual flair against teams like that.

We have more than enough players of quality to be making games like Saturday much more routine than it was.

Picked up a bit of the post-match presser and Beale says he has to maybe look at himself for making changes in 2nd half to keep players sattisfied (or a word to that effect), then went onto say some of the subs that came on played for themselves and not for the team. Who do you think he was getting at?

I understand the need to keep players happy but 17 out of the 49 subs made under Beale have been 83+ minutes. That’s not keeping anyone happy.

Twice we have conceded within minutes of a late sub celtic 83>85, Kilmarnock 85>88

Other than Aberdeen where we scored in 95 and 97 however made our 4 changes on 58 minutes, none of the subs have really had an impact (not counting extra time against 10 man Aberdeen)
