One of my favourite Rangers songs which I'm sure a lot probably haven't heard before.

A guy in the pub tried to argue that it's originally a Linfield song but we have just adapted it to Rangers... Anyone able to settle this?

Not to my knowledge, never heard it sung anywhere, apart from me when playing the tape!

It's not the Willie Woodburn song. The image in the OP is misleading. It should be "Shirts of Royal Blue." and it was an old Linfield song.

If they did try and introduce this, which I doubt, the wider support would just end up singing Night We Burned Ardoyne. Similar to PRW and No1 Platoon.

Definitely a Linfield song, although I had it on an old Rangers LP in the sixties.


Remember some of the lyrics, 'Davy Cohrane on the wing, Joe Bambrick up the middle of our heroes we must sing'

Utterly ridiculous song. Worst in the songbook by a mile.
