Was there not a form of segregation where the announcers box was?
There was also 1 or 2 games they got a section of the Govan.

One game there a video of 2 bears in their section of the mail stand jumping about celebrating.I remember when we got 1/3 of their main stand and shared the toilets and kiosks.
21k - 24k when they opened it right to the jungle and the wee bit of the main stand.Superb days.
Some atmosphere considering it was a few thousand short compared to today.
then we took 18k to the piggery.
you still got the FF flag day at the piggery @mdingwall
Yes
Last season of it was 1988/89
I was in the directors box for that game with my dad who was doing some work with Malborough Construction at the time and was also friends with John Paton, the then Chairman before David Holmes. Was in the enclosure for the 4/4 game.
mental it was.
Outside the main doors, a few running battles. Not really in the enclosure. Were there not riots??
Sat in it a few times when we played there. We used to get part of their main stand too.
How times have changed.

1980Define riot?
Don't know if this was an in-joke or not. But it made me laughWere they postmen?
You couldn't reach them...Were there not riots??
Hi @odiuscreepI can remember in the 70s sitting in the Centenary Stand and they were across the passage,no police in sight.
Mind being in there when the bottles started flying about !!I can remember in the 70s sitting in the Centenary Stand and they were across the passage,no police in sight.
I see now the tunnel is in between. Still hard to comprehend as that's near enough where I sit now. Albeit I'd be in with the great unwashed in that pictureYou couldn't reach them...
I was in their main stand a couple of times no segregation. One game there a video of 2 bears in their section of the mail stand jumping about celebrating.

My uncle was a cop and told me he was on duty at a game against them at Ibrox in the seventies and said there were reports of a Rangers fan running about with a samurai sword. He said “We never did find the c@nt either”. It must have been insane back then.
Yup. I was there the day they lost the league to Dundee United. They had maybe 25% of Govan lower and upper. Wont remind anyone of the score. Just a typical day in the life of a Rangers fan early 80s. Good bottle throwing at the final whistle mind you. People were still coming to terms with the alcohol ban at the time LOL.They got a section, wasn’t quite half.
Yup. You would have blokes wearing their "mades" with a built in internal sword or chib pocket. They would take the weapon out and give to a younger member of the team who would look after it for the duration of the match. You wouldnt want a 12 inch knife in your trousers while celebrating. And it was pretty normal to see in the 70s. I am chuckling typing this at the absurdity of what we found normal. Cavemen compared to today. My uncle was a cop and told me he was on duty at a game against them at Ibrox in the seventies and said there were reports of a Rangers fan running about with a samurai sword. Yes. As a youngster i went down at half time for a pie and the queue was horrendous. So thought id join the smaller queue. Not taking notice that it was scum fans. A police man came over and asked me to move and i said i was near front of queue so he escorted me to front of Rangers queue. Nearly started 2 riots...Did they not get half the upper main stand as well? Mental
