Why does the SPFL resolution predetermine the means of completion (average points)

Theres threads going through the votes the ins and outs of it the overall issue.

But at the very heart of it is the fact the spfl wish to ensure Celtic FC are champions.

There could have been a resolution passed today that ensured a means of determining completion would be established over the next week.

Clubs will still be paid. Thats the point of resolving to determine it as complete.

But that would then have led to several awkward days of people making clear that average points when teams have not played the same schedule at 29/30 matches is fundamentally unfair and flys in the face of all notion of sporting integrity.

Which would have brought it back to belgium.

They determined a Champion based on a fundamentally fair method of playing each other once home and away.

To my knowledge. Nothing would change for any team in the event that the SPFL went for the 22 match point as their benchmark.

* Edit it would change the lower leagues.

Except that Celtic would not be Champions.

So why the rush for a confirmed method ?

Why the rush from teams completely unaffected to agree to it ?

We know why. It’s a stitch up.

Are you seriously suggesting that at this stage the SPFL come up with a solution that awards us the league without completing all the games?

Does it upset you that the fair midpoint other countries want to use actually changes the champion club ?

Whatever the decided method. Why is it in todays resolution at all ?

Who decided ?

Remember the nonsense of openness and transparency from these scumbags ?

The SPFL, while a shower of c*nts and self serving arseholes in the main, cannot decide on the Scottish Cup.

I get that, mate. However, the SFA's silence on not joining the SPFL in concluding the Scottish Cup only highlights the corruption.

We haven’t played everyone home and away mate.

So average points then ? Or that only apply when Celtic want ?
Average points over a random number of games in which every side has different fixtures?(why 22 and not 29?) It’s a ridiculous idea. The only option is null and void.

"Average points" Only a rhabid mentally challenged could think that one up. They really are sad bastards and an embarrassment to modern society!

Its the same 22 fixtures for all not the same 29

Think you are being deliberately obtuse

The point of the thread is :

Yes, agree you wish to go to ‘completed’, thats your right, but tossing the actual method in with no consultation on how best to complete all 4 leagues is bizarre and sinister.

This is the big scandal in all of this. Clubs are being financially bribed into voting for a proposal that only has one outcome.

Why are no other options allowed to be tabled? Who decided that the current proposal is the only one that is acceptable?

It’s blatant fûcking corruption and they aren’t even trying to hide it.

That’s my point - it’s not the same 22 fixtures. Our game against St Johnstone at home in the original 2nd round of fixtures didn’t take place - it’s still not taken place. What are you missing here?

Even my wife, who hates football, gets it. They’ve considered all options and worked towards those which get their “correct” and predetermined answer. Everything they have done confirms they had one goal in mind, and nothing else was even up for debate.

In a wondrous twist of fate, financial blackmail was used to prompt a “democratic process” shoring up the decision.
That democratic process will now take longer than just paying out an average sum and do exactly what it promised to avert.

Should be P45s getting dished out all over the fucking place here.

Are you seriously suggesting that at this stage the SPFL come up with a solution that awards us the league without completing all the games?

That solution was there and the SPFL choose to ignore it. When the Belgium news came out there was a rush in the press to say Scotland should follow their precedent, with stuff like this: https://www.heraldscotland.com/spor...-defender-calls-spfl-follow-belgiums-example/ That idea quickly dissapeared when it became clear how Belgium were going to decide it and how that would affect Scotland. It is the fairest way if you are awarding champions without finishing all games, but champions shouldn't be awarded without finishing all games, so it should be finished or abandoned.

We would decline it. No (unt has won anything therefore you cant award. Null n Void!
