Why is there no published criteria for calling the league

after all dodgy dealings of last year, why isn't there published criteria for awarding the leagues for this year, so that the rules are known up front and there can't be any debate over relegation or titles.

They should set a baseline of how many games must be completed and what happens to games in hand.

I also think they should insist and each round of fixtures is completed before the new one starts. Certainly, the first two rounds the home and away ties should be complete. if the worse comes to the worse, at least the criteria will be set in stone and not made up on the hoof

@peterlawell

Any club that can prove they only sell their stadium out twice a year are to be awarded the title immediately in the event of another lockdown.

They tried that and the majority of clubs, rightly, rejected .

We can only imagine which team would have benefited most from any new "rules" .
I thought they tried to get the clubs to agree to give them the ability to call the leagues how they wanted if football got stopped again. Basically removing the need for a vote and making awarding COVID FC the title so much easier.

There was no mention of putting rules in place in advance and we all know how that would end up

The criteria they pushed for was if the league gets called early whoever's name starts and ends with the same letter that play in green wins it.
Only 1 club Ok'd it.

There’s too many scenarios at play. We have to wait and see what benefits the soap dodgers the most then write the rules accordingly

The same reason there doesnt appear to be clear guidance on players who should have been self isolating but breached it.

It appears to be open to abuse by a pro Celtic SPFL.

Remember a few weeks ago when we released that damning few hundred page dossier and within minutes the SPFL were commenting to the media from all roads.

Notice how quiet they have been this week? Nothing about Griffith. Nothing about Bolingoli. Nothing about Celtic (other than a commendation about how great theyve handled it)

Imagine that was Morelos or Kent. They would be back to the dossier day - commenting within minutes.

They are going to pick and choose to suit.

This title is going to have to be won as hard off the pitch as on it.

Quite incredible that in a topic such as this, we somehow still find a way to have a go at our board!!
I really don't think it is.

Contested the league being awarded
Several statements telling fan the club "won't be found wanting"
Called for resignation of chairman
Called for Doncaster to resign
Called for external investigation
Released a dossier of evidence
Released a statement saying the quo won't hold.

Then now everything is back to normal it would appear.

Yes, the board have done some great work but they have also now chosen to ignore the elephant in the room. Rangers should have been holding them to task to make sure future mistakes don't happen again.

The difference is that would have actually required some output from the club as opposed to releasing statements to appease many as "they're not messing about".

Because they are corrupt and incompetent

A member club would have to make a proposal I imagine, and they would all prefer to wait and see how the scenario effects them.

It will have to be done the same as last season. Precedence has been set. Same with punishments for isolation/covid. They couldn't run a bath successfully.

Two possible reasons:

1. The Scottish game is run by complete chancers who aren’t capable of dealing with the situation.

2. So they can call it when a certain team are on top.

Take your pick

Edit: Or option 3. All of the above

Because if it’s written in stone they can’t adjust and bend the rules to their own advantage

They wanted this and the clubs rightly voted against it

So back to same as last season, they propose when its called and the clubs vote (if it comes up again)

Sorry if that doesn't fit the tin-foil-hat agenda

That's not really what they wanted mate. They wanted emergency powers so that they could make things up on the fly without needing to consult or have agreement from the clubs, should a similar situation kick off again. The clubs were absolutely right to tell them to GTF.

That's different from them having a pre-published set of criteria and rules which everyone is aware of in advance.

It depends where the manky mob are in the league, top league finished & they are awarded the title. Anywhere else pause the league. :))
