Why wasn’t Roofe in the Cup Final squad?

Didn't see anything mentioned before (or after) the game.

Was he injured  yet again or just not picked, or was he already OOC?

He’s done imo

Dundee game when we had to win he was hopeless despite getting a start

If you watched him in the warm ups for a few weeks beforehand he could hardly hit the target never mind contribute in a game

His last decent involvement was scoring the winner v Betis away

He was riddled with injuries but scored some great goals for us

I wish him the best and hope he gets a new club

He was with the players warming up pre-game. So either not fit enough to warm the bench or Clement just really didn’t want to use him.

Another in the long line of what ifs at our club, if he could have kept himself fit and on form he would have been an unbelievable asset.

I would go as far as to say if Roofe was 100% fit for 40 games a season he would be playing in the EPL.

When you take his fee and wages over those years into account he’s been shocking business for us. And I’m honestly not convinced he always wants to play as much as he wants us to believe.

I'm probably just bitter and thoroughly pissed off at the moment but I really couldn't give a %^*& about what he does now.

It's been a while since he has been fully fit but even this season when he has played he has looked miles off it and very poor. Could be fitness who knows.

Some may disagree but the team played well the second half on Saturday because Sima was a vocal point and brings others into play and links up play well.

Dessers and Roofe have been terrible at that this season.

We spend fortunes on wages with injury prone players, god knows how they pass medicals.

The time it takes them to get back to fitness, introduced to a game and suddenly injured again.

Bad business indeed.

Or a positive way of thinking would be the contribution of 55 and the earnings made due to his goal against Betis took the sting out a bit
That’s a massive leap though. That sort of cash for a player chipping in for one league title and qualification out of our Europa League group isn’t really value for money.

He hasn't made any impact with his cameos, correct decision to not include him
That’s what’s disappointing about this latter period when he’s been fit, I still expected him to come in & have an impact of sorts, but he did nothing.

Tell you what though, in a one off cup final I’d still have had him on the bench, and still have brought him on before Scott Wright…

He’ll find another club no bother at all, difficult to predict the level, but he’ll be earning alright.

I imagine it's just as equally frustrating for Roofe that he couldn't play for as much as we both wanted him to.

Did find it strange though that he had been warming up with the team the last few games but wasn't named at least on the bench. Also, he was posting clips from the training ground of him pinging them into the top corner last week in the build up to the final, thought that was pointing to him being involved in some way on Saturday.

It seems a good idea to put him on then when he does get on you realise it was not a good idea, he has lost the lot, the money spunked on injured players is mind boggling.
Do clubs have insurance policies to cover all/any of the wages?

How much money have we spent on Kemar Roofe over the term of his contract? Including signing on fee and wages etc? Medical expenses aside, he must be the most expensive signing ever.

Would have been better on the bench than Ryan Jack who seems to have no chance to play. Was King fit? That was the weirder one as we had literally no cover in defence on the bench

We got 4,824 minutes out of Kemar Roofe.

Thats 53 and a half games of football over 4 years.

Absolutely pathetic return on our money. Has to go down as one of our worst ever value for money signings.
In terms of his transfer fee and wages he has cost us £10 million plus.

The wages we are sanctioning out on injury prone crocks needs addressed immediately.
