Yes by all means have a quiet word in the guys ear but anyone going and grassing on fellow bears can get to f**k as far as I'm concerned.
No. I'd tell them to shut up, though (for as much their own benefit as my ears/offence, etc.).would you "grass" a fellow bear that was shouting n***er at a black player?
Getting too old for that now Mark, can’t handle myself like I used to.Most of us already do on a lot of issues. If you’ve got some antisocial twerp spoiling your day you tell him to %^*& up or %^*& off.

I remember when we first got into bother with uefa, some game at hampden and 10-15 late teens early 20s guys starting TBB, a 50ish skinny speccy guy standing up and shouting them down. Nobody else saying backing him up but he got them to stop.
Not that it is even remotely comparable but no I wouldn't. I'd tell him to shut the f**k up but wouldnt go running to the OB or a steward to point him out.

I'm trying to imagine the logistics of grassing up a guy who is sitting next to you. Up out your seat, shimmying along your row offering folk apologies and thanks as you go, bimbling down the stairs to locate the nearest steward, pointing back up at the offender who can clearly see you pointing at him, back up the stairs, shimmying back along the row offering more thanks and apologies, then taking your seat again next to the guy you've just grassed in.
I remember this was the attitude of the Celtic fans after a wee boy was hit in the face with a bottle before an Old Firm game at Hampden and it was heavily criticised on here.
I think those who are likely to report offenders will be taking seat numbers and doing it at half time or after the game.
You are an idiot if you believe that. There is nothing more that needs to be said. What we sing today means %^*& all folk on here need to get a grip. Can tone it down for Europe or when FARE are attending but no way should we be allowing these gimps to effect how we support our team.
Anyone trying to self police will just end up with a sore face. Thankfully most of the handwringers on here won't be attending any away games.
Taking a risk with 50k people not to add on the 'words' is lunacy of the highest order. What we sing today means %^*& all folk on here need to get a grip. Can tone it down for Europe or when FARE are attending but no way should we be allowing these gimps to effect how we support our team.

Different now mate, everyone is out their comfort zone.I did at the Progres game and everyone else stayed silent.

Even if those "grasses" potentially save the club from a stadium closure? It's down to the club to police it better. %^*& standing in amongst grasses
If the choice was grass on my own fans or have Rangers thrown out of Europe I know what I would rather. I wouldn’t think twice. You don’t grass your own fans, that’s shitebag behaviour. I’ve heard some amount of dribble at games but I don’t go and report it.
it is exactly the same in UEFAs eyes - that's the point.
if you don't think someone that shouted that at a black player needs banned from our club then their is no helping you.
Sorry but you don’t grass your own supporters in that’s pathetic. Especially turning on them. The stewards/police are there to do that job.If the choice was grass on my own fans or have Rangers thrown out of Europe I know what I would rather. I wouldn’t think twice.

If you think getting someone nicked and potentially losing his job and freedom over a game of football is ok then that's your perogativeEven if those "grasses" potentially save the club from a stadium closure?
Looking forward to being booted out of we Europe to stay true to your code? Maybe mcinnes would have a change of heart and help us or once stevie g has had enough and leaves? You don't grass on your own people
You don't grass on your own people
This was also the attitude of Celtic officials when employees were abusing little kids!!! As a previous poster said, anyone deliberately hurting the club is not one of our own.
As long as you do the decking and stuff...I will not sit back and watch our fans kill our club. I would hope if I pull someone up that I have the backing of the many.....
That personIf you think getting someone nicked and potentially losing his job and freedom over a game of football is ok then that's your perogative
It’s the same all the time on here especially with threads like this.I think a lot of people are misinterpreting what I meant when I started this thread. Going to stewards/police isn’t self-policing. It’s literally the opposite. Not sure why that’s difficult to understand. Rather, by self-policing I meant telling one of our own around us to zip it when they sing something or try to start a. chant that could cost us
You really think words in a song are comparable to abusing kids, have a word with yourself.
No, of course I don't think a word in a song is comparable to child abuse. I was linking the covering up of child abuse to the 'we don't grass on our own' attitude of those associated with Celtic; which the quoted previous poster had discussed when he said:
"I remember this was the attitude of the Celtic fans after a wee boy was hit in the face with a bottle before an Old Firm game at Hampden and it was heavily criticised on here."
Unfortunately, however, some on here have a similar "you don't grass on your own" mindset when it comes to helping Rangers enforce a zero tolerance approach to sectarianism. I don't believe that is the right attitude to have. The fact is, anyone singing banned songs or using sectarian language inside Ibrox is hurting the club's reputation, finances and opportunities to compete at a higher level. These people are not true supporters of the club and therefore do not deserve to receive protection from genuine supporters. Should they be on the receiving end of "self policing" by having everyone around them telling them to STFU with the sectarian shit? Definitely!
They’ll not be a genuine fan in the stadium we’ve all shouted something beforeNo, of course I don't think a word in a song is comparable to child abuse. What do you do with that one family member who doesn’t care and constantly breaks the house rules to the point the whole family faces eviction from the house? - do you tell him he is no longer welcome in the house? or do you accept the consequences, say nothing and start packing your belongings in anticipation of being evicted through no fault of your own?You don’t grass your own fans, that’s shitebag behaviour. I’ve heard some amount of dribble at games but I don’t go and report it.
