Zak Lovelace Vs Ross County?

With Morelos suspended and leaving us with 1 striker, is it unrealistic to see Lovelace on the bench this weekend? Already played in the Championship with Millwall.

Or is he miles off it despite his form for the B team.

I wouldn't be against it but honestly think it will never happen. At the very least should put him on the bench for the QOTS game.

It balances against game time with the B team assuming they play on the same day.

Is he training with the 1st team?

Not against it by the way but i’ve never seen him play so perhaps not best placed to say

We need to prove to talented youths at other clubs that there is a clear and regular pathway to first team football in general, and eve more so in games after we have lost first team players to whatever reason.

Otherwise we we will not only stop attracting them but talented ones then do come here will leave and prove their unfounded talent elsewhere, like the boy Young-Coombes is doing on loan at Wimbledon after a player of the year award in the Brentford B team.

If we get a decent offer for Morelos and can get a replacement in, I would take it. Give Lovelace the opportunity. Looks physically ready.

Surely this is a bit contradictory mate?

Firstly, NYC was widely reported to be homesick and wanted down south.

Secondly, if he stayed with us and developed like we thought he would then he’d likely have more first team appearances for us than he does for Brentford. Rather than kicking about on loan in League 2.

Rangers loaning out their talented youngsters is often portrayed as a negative, but your post is alluding to it being a positive thing and an indication it’s the right thing when another team does it.

My thoughts exactly. He's played men's football, there's no physical problem, he is too good for his current level.

Throw him in and let him make an impact. If not, it's not going to break him anyway. He'd just be looking for a loan if he doesn't do enough to remain in the squad.

No reason he can't be on the bench. There's no point in Sakala being on the bench as the manager refuses to play him.
Had totally forgotten about him

Argument for another day, and in no way do I think he's the answer to everything but it's bizarre how frozen out he is despite his returns last season, we're hardly in a position to be ignoring anyone who got into double figures goals last season, especially when you see Matondo performance on Saturday.

He's not going to be happy being kept in the b team his not come here to play this standard of football even though his with a bigger club now he must feel his going backwards he is definitely good enough to get 15 - 20 mins against most teams in our league

He should be in the squad without a doubt. Gio is probably trying to figure out how many defensive players he can get in for the game against QotS in case they go full attack.

Played 24 minutes in the Championship with Millwall as a token gesture in the hope that he would sign a new deal. He’s got potential but he’s not ready.

We had people saying the Colombian boy should replace Alfie last season in the same vain.

It wasn't a token gesture he was put on the bench because he was ready at 15 plus he was playing in the under 23 s his not ready to take top spot but definitely good enough to bring on as his to good for b team football

He's 16 years old and was signed specifically to the Rangers academy.

So he knows exactly what the script is, and I'm sure he's fine with it - chose coming to that than staying at Millwall or going to other interested parties.

Unhappy Fs.

Would say its unrealistic because the level he's playing at and for me we should let him develop in his own time let the club decide what's best for him. It's a massive step up from the level he's currently playing at as well if Lowry and McCann aren't getting a sniff at the moment doubt it's going to change for Lovelace.

Tbf mate, NYC was never making it at Rangers in a million years.
