Yet another away League fixture and two more points drift away. For Philippe Clement the frustration and angst was all too obvious.
“We knew what to expect today – that is breaking open the wall – and you make it more difficult for yourself by conceding the first goal after six minutes. That gives a lot of belief to the opponent.
“There was not enough movement up front or movement behind the defence to open up spaces in the first-half. We were better in the second-half but not good enough to open up the
opponent and win the game. We didn’t show the quality that was there in the last couple of weeks. We were not decisive enough in the final third.
“We have scored a lot of goals in recent away games whilst also conceding a lot of goals – that was not the case today. Our final, decisive passes were not good enough
“It’s very frustrating – we had to find a new balance with our defensive line-up with so many players absent. We have lost some stability with so many changes.”
The Ibrox Boss emphasised that he fully understood the anger and disappointment of many fans.
“The supporters are also behind us when we play well, and when we show quality – today was not a good game – so I understand their frustration. They’re unhappy – and I’m also unhappy.”
Clement was in no doubt that he has the backing of the Rangers Board of Directors.
“We have talks every day about January, about next season.”
