Steven Gerrard said that he and the team miss the vocal support at Ibrox and from the travelling support, especially when there is a mountain to climb.

Yesterday’s virtual press conference ahead of the crucial European game with Bayer 04 Leverkusen saw Steven Gerrard in an optimistic mood.

“We know it will not be easy, it will be tough but we will do the best we can” he said. Knowing that all the fans back home will virtually support the team will help them, he added. Which made me ask him if he is aware that Rangers do have a pretty large following in Germany and the surrounding countries, too.  “Rangers are a big club with a global support so no surprise to hear that” he said and promised “we will play for all of them, too!”

He was then asked about the two new players in the team and the Gaffer was full of praise for them,  “Both players show the right attitude, I´m pleased to have them onboard and look forward to working with them, Roofe has qualities in the box, Cedric has big potential with his speed, both giving us new tactical options.”

Unfortunately both are not available for tonight’s clash with Bayer04 but the good news is, Alfredo is fit and eager to show what he can (still) do for us. And Steven Gerrard seems not to be worried that this will end soon, as he said “… before there is any change there hast to be an valid offer on the table and and right now there is none.”
