Was wondering if anyone had heard any latest or update regarding the condition of Nnamdi Ofoborh.Glad to see the club sticking by him while he makes his recovery but is that simply to honour his contract or do the club see the boy making a recovery and playing for us? Club have been fairly silent about this one obviously for good reason but I’m curious as to if anyones heard anything or seen any interviews regarding that situation recently.

Is this the type of situation where the insurance company pays his wages until fit?

If so there is no need to rush the boy.

Health comes first

I was asking this a few weeks ago, not heard anything about him, I forgot about him completely to be honest, only was at Ibrox when they were doing a walkround that I seen him

Hasn’t been in any of the copious photos or videos over pre-season.

He won’t play for Rangers IMO.

Pretty sure he’s on a really long contract too.
I’m surprised he’s not doing coaching badges. I don’t know if it’s possible to come back from something like this especially if you haven’t kicked a ball for 2 or 3 years.

I haven’t heard this but hopefully this is the case. I think we got lucky Goldson’s heart issue wasn’t as serious as Ofoborh’s but is there something lacking in our pre contract medical screening or have we just been unlucky?

Don’t see this boy playing a game for us or possibly ever again.

Shame for the lad if that does end up being the case. If as suggested above the insurers are currently paying his wages we could possibly offer to put him through his coaching badges if he wants to go down that route.

The idea that insurance companies cover players wages is a myth.

The premiums on that type of risk would be prohibitive.

Individual players sometimes take cover against long term injury/illness that might prevent them getting a further contract. Still very expensive.

Just finished the Rangers Review episode on youtube where they reckon he is still being assessed and we aren't getting updates because it's a personal medical situation and that is how he wants it to be.

I think he might not play again but who knows because you would think that would have been decided sooner if it was the case.

I don’t think any medical to sign for a football team is going to be in depth enough to pick everything up. It was obviously not picked up at his previous club too. I’m glad it was eventually picked up before the unthinkable happened on the pitch.

He wrote on Instagram back in January.

“This year has easily been the toughest year of my life.

“All the depression, anger, sadness and loneliness I’ve experienced but extremely grateful for the support from family, friends and teammates.

“It has been a tough year mentally and physically and as you can see a lot has gone on behind the scenes.

“Many doctors said I’m lucky to be here but I don’t believe in luck but the blessings from God. I owe it all to God for aiding me on this comeback trail. I will be back.

“2022 will have better days for us all. God bless you all and Happy New Year.”

Feel bad for this guy. The likelihood of him pulling on a shirt gets less and less as the months roll on.

I hope he makes a full recovery and stakes his claim. If he can’t play again at our level, they’ll look to terminate his contract. It’s a nice sentiment that we’re standing by him, but the reality is we can’t pay 3/4 years worth of wages for nothing in return.

I have insurance to cover my wages incase I get injured while playing, £27.99 a month :))

I'm wondering why this wasn't picked up by Bournemouth? From his health perspective maybe it was for the best that he signed for us.
Heart issues don’t necessarily flag routinely, they sometimes only pop at certain periods and by chance tbh.

Could literally just have been his heart was going too fast one day we were assessing.

(That’s just an example haha)

I went through a lengthy period of heart testing, I say lengthy because it took fucking ages to get seen by the specialist. Then the monitor and results etc.

Literally about a year it took me. I’m not comparing by the way, just waffling.

If he leads a normal everyday life and raises a family until his 70s because our medical team picked up his condition then that will be viewed by him as the best move he ever made! I doubt very much we will ever see him in a competitive rangers jersey. Questions should be asked of the English clubs heart screening protocols though….Goldson and Erikkson were very different in. That their conditions were very easily identifiable and treatable. Good luck to the lad

From where? There’s literally pictures of him lying in a hospital bed recovering from the articles when we signed him.
WTFs it got to do with you where I heard it? I was acknowledging my mistake to a fellow bear who put me straight on a 5 year old misunderstanding I had about Goldson’s heart issue. You’ve got wallopers on here asking where I heard it?
Get a f***in grip.
Roll on the new season.

The lads health is most important. Hopefully he's doing ok as it must have been a shock.

Goldson only missed 10 months of football.

Eriksen had a heart attack, was actually dead for a few minutes and has recovered and was playing again within 6 months.

The fact this boy has been out for 2 years suggests it’s more serious than that.
Is that animal years?

Nnamdi said he was given the green light to return as specialists believed the issue was solved, however when they tried to ramp up his pre season fitness, his test showed the same issue. The specialist are stumped as to what is the best course going forward him.

This was all said when Gerrard was still in charge.

The double signing of him and Simpson was imo strange as none of them had done anything of note to warrant a move to us, i wish him well wherever his career takes him.
Young Nigerian/English midfielder on a free who’d been doing well at Wycombe and looked a really good prospect. A completely different signing to Jack Simpson and it’s stupid to predict how you think his transfer would’ve played out.

So who did you see him displacing in the team? he was signed from Bournemouth same as Simpson i still think it was a weird signing.

Just look at our vice captain for proof.
