Souness getting it now

"it's a woman's game let's celebrate the woman's body"

Was said about the winning goal celebration in the world cup final.

Offended Naw cause I don't give a %^*& haha.

Can the cancel culture cancel the fucking energy companies please?

This is why women's football never should have been given the attention it has been have forced to give, think they are big time when they would struggle to beat an u16 academy team. In all seriousness though it's a figure of speech. If two teams of women were playing like Spurs and Chelsea did and someone said it was a woman's game no one would bat an eyelid, always taken it as a way of saying they are adults and can handle themselves but i suppose people on social media have to show they are a better person than someone else and make sure everyone else knows it.

That’s the unspeakable truth, isn’t it.

Many were shot down over the summer for even hinting at it.

Womens football is a niche…it’s a different sport from the real thing.

It shouldn’t be “prime time” on BBC 1.

You shouldn’t click on the sports news on bbc and be told Barcelona have signed some WSL player before they even mention Rangers or Scottish news.

If you want to watch it, fine, I dabble myself occasionally, but it’s being utterly forced down the throats of a disinterested public

Made a "man's game" comment at the end of the Chelsea game there. Twitter currently in meltdown because his fellow pundit was some female footballer. It's a well known (and factual) turn of phrase ffs, honestly what the f*ck is it with these people?!

Sadly wouldn't be surprised if Sky get rid now.
He was talking some amount of shite today though.

As much as there’s people desperate to be offended and it’s pathetic, there’s so many who pretend to hate them being offended but love the fact they can shout about snow flakes and all the rest of it

Presenter obviously got told through his earpiece by the producers to correct Souness and say it also a womens game. Pathetic from Sky

Which is obviously wrong as it was a mans game that they were commenting on.

Can we get back to the days were people got offended at things that are fukin offensive not a well used idiom of football.

I'm not vindictive, but why don't these miserable fuckers go and just die somewhere, seriously

Edit; not normally vindictive!

They have started referring to the woman's teams now with exactly the same as the mens team just to confuse this shit even more

There has always been 'football' and then 'women's football.'

Just lately I have heard BBC Sports bulletins referring to football as 'in the men's game' as if the two games were somehow equivalent and had to be differentiated.

F*ck off anyone who doesn't understand that Souness is referring to football as 'a man's game.'

And women's football is a woman's game.

Let’s just call it for what it is.

I have no problem with female analysts, female pundits. Some of them are not bad.

But we live in an age now where it’s a pre-requisite.

You cannot watch a premier league game, BT sport, Sky, where female analysts and pundits or commentators aren’t front and centre.

We’ve all gone a bit crazy. By all means give someone a platform if they can speak sense on the game, regardless of race or gender.

What we’re exposed to now isn’t that, it’s pure insistence on “positive discrimination”
Stopped watching MOTD when the panel went token, yes I Do mean token, adds nothing to the show

If he goes they should also get rid of that scouser Jamie Carragher his voice just winds me up

What The Magnificent Bastard said was absolutely correct, the fact that the game isn't stopped for the tiniest physical contact has made the game far more entertaining to watch and the players just get on with it knowing that rolling around as if they've just been shot doesn't cut it anymore.
If some woke arseholes are getting their panties all wet just because he described the man's professional game as a man's game then just fkn ignore them...more likely than not the type of folk who describe football as "22 men running around a field kicking a bit of leather" wankers!
:)

I'm sure his comment right at the end was "that's what we want to see, men going at it".

Would she have preferred him to say "that's what we want to see, women going at it"?

I think not. :)

Only if both chicks are hot ;) and isn't that what Pornhub is for

Force feeding down our throats

And how is he meant to know if calling the man ""He"" is the correct pronoun to be calling a man these days!!? o_O o_O o_O
He just said “he hasn’t exactly set the heather on fire”

This is clearly a hate crime against lassies called Heather and he should be double cancelled

There are people who fight battles worth fighting because it improves society. There are also people who pick battles - any battle - because it gains attention for them or their cause/organisation, boosts fundraising, opens up career opportunities or burnishes their self-image as a fighter for the oppressed. The latter group are often narcissists. And the faster we learn as a society to separate out the former group from the latter and to take their complaints with a pinch of salt, the better. Look at the state of things right now, cost of living crisis, incompetent and corrupt political leadership, war in Ukraine, energy crisis that may get worse, and so on - who in their right mind with a sense of priorities thinks Souness using a figure of speech is "offensive?"

It was so obvious that Souness and Cara were rightly treating that Karen with the contempt that she deserved as she spouted her nonsense.

The world has gone mad that we even have to have women involved in doing summarizing of the men’s game when they’ve never played at that level.
Souness and Cara had stellar careers as top players, and in Graeme‘s case manager, and they rightly spoke about what it is like being on the pitch and playing at that level.

Oversensitive players running to their agents and the press was one of the reasons why Souness has stayed away from management.
I just hope and pray he doesn’t decide that the woke w@nkers are not worth him bothering about continuing as a match summarizer

It IS a man's game, I'm getting seriously pee'd off with this mortified, permanently offended, generation of wimps.

The solution to all this is simple. Do away with differentiated men and women's sports and just make it mixed. The best people reach the top.

Or would women not want that level of equality?
And the equal pay that would go with it. A true meritocracy.
