Stewart Milne wants summit with the sfa over decision making

Aberdeen chairman Stewart Milne has called for a summit with the Scottish FA to discuss the decision-making at the governing body following a number of "controversial" recent calls.

Milne has asked SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster, who is also on the Scottish FA board, to request a meeting with Hampden chiefs to "establish a greater understanding for all the game's stakeholders, including clubs, players, authorities and supporters, as to the process and decision-making procedures employed by the governing body, in the wake of several controversial decisions this season."

Aberdeen were unhappy last week when Scott McKenna was cited for a challenge on Odsonne Edouard that had been missed by the match referee. The defender was banned for two matches.

The club had also said that VAR should be considered in Scottish football after they disagreed with the sending off of Mikey Devlin earlier in the season.

Milne feels that controversial calls are damaging the national game and wants action to increase "transparency".

He said: "I very much feel there is genuine concern for the state of the game in Scotland at the moment. We simply must have consistency and transparency or we all, as clubs, the SFA and the SPFL lose significant credibility and risk losing the fans who have been baffled by several of the outcomes arrived at recently. Without supporters there is no game and they, as we all do, deserve far more clarity and transparency than we have at present.

There are so many positives in our game right now, from a great crop of top-class managers, to a very competitive Ladbrokes Premiership and two cracking Betfred Cup semi-finals to look forward to, yet conversations and news headlines seem to be dominated the several controversial decisions that have been arrived at, and we're only just into October, without having a clear understanding of the process and the reasons these were arrived at.

"It's imperative that we get everyone with a vested interest together, sooner rather than later, in order that future decisions can be clearly explained to the fans who must always be the main consideration."

Don't see a problem with it to be fair.
Haven't seen the tackle on Edouard so can't judge it, but I know it'll be no worse than the straight red Brown got downgraded.

Devlin was red carded for a foul that was a yellow card for Boyata. Thomson was the ref in both cases so no excuses for the inconsistencies.

SPFL Doncaster and Lawwell will have a meeting with SFA Doncaster and Lawwell and decide to merge the organisations, sell Hampden for housing and use the paedodome for all semis, finals and internationals. Cant be more transparent than that.

That (unt and those of his ilk would want a summit about a summit....

As for VAR...One Club in Scottish football would more than likely benefit the most from its introduction. ..The Club plays it's home games at Ibrox.

McKenna should have been done for the two deliberate off the ball barges on Morelos that were almost at the opposite side of the field from the ball.
Someone on here might be able to explain why he wasn't because I can't.
In the street, he would be nicked and charged with assault.

He does just want to create mayhem for Rangers. Got nothing to do with even remotely to with his own club's interests. Thing is. we've got nothing to answer for.

He’s quite right tbf

Those running out game are getting away with murder and should be held to account.

The bizarre, almost weekly decisions are one thing but upcoming TV deal is absolutely crucial and I really fear the worst with incompetence levels at an all time high.

There is no benefit for us. He wants a return to us and only us being shafted
That wouldn't be the case if we had the transparency he is asking for.

Aberdeen have called out refereeing inconsistencies twice recently and had a pop at the handling of the semi finals.

If it was my call, Rangers should have come out and backed them in both instances.

There is no benefit for us. He wants a return to us and only us being shafted

By primarily citing decisions that benefited the scum?

We all think the SFA is stitched up.
He calls for the SFA decision making process to be sorted out.
We all think it is to go against only us?

Not a huge amount of logic in there to be honest mate.

So Stewie, what was your take on the Morelos kick out and subsequent rescinding of the red card?
Bet you’re seething at that despite it being the harshest yet this season.
Sheep shagging twat.

That happened again yesterday, cant remember who was on the receiving end, violently barged miles off the ball by the centre half, right in front of that fud Beaton, play on.

To be fair to him, this was not a completely unforeseen outcome. The solution should have been planned for in advance and then nobody could complain.

As much as i hate that wig wearing bastard milne if he is calling for a shake up at SFA im all for it .its time other clubs questioned who is running the SFA and who is benefiting ie lawell & celtic ..stewart gilmour ex st mirren chairman called lawell out only for the record to delete the story

He wasn’t worried about the state of the game when he was voting to kick the biggest club in the country out the division.

Phuck him.

Any authority the SPL and SFA had disappeared when they refused to back their refs under weekly intimidation from the Peasants, which resulted in refs and other officials finally going on strike.

What the fcuk is a “ summit” and who speaks like that in 2018??

I agree with Milne on VAR.

If he'd had the cajones to mention this a couple of years ago, his statement may have had some credibility.
Wiggy backed the wrong horse, got nothing and is flailing now.

Or maybe 6 years ago when decision making protocols were launched out the window during a feeding frenzy on our club.

Transfering membership to a new company.

SPL Rules: Board level decision.

What happened: Clubs asked to vote.

What actually happened after that: Clubs polled their mental fans and the lunatics mobilised.

Result: Scottish football entered it's darkest period in history.

Is it any coincidence that since the Morelos red card was overturned everybody is using that as some sort of benchmark to judge every single questionable decision arising?? You just know that deep down that is what this is REALLY all about.

It is also quite obvious that since that Morelos decision 2 or 3 clubs have taken it in turns to have a weekly pop at the powers that be - ie the sheep, the bheasts and killie/Clarke.

Yes, let's have some transparency. Will the SFA wait until we're in the last 32 of the Europa League, before they try to get us kicked out ? Or let us know what it is they're trying to do with Resolution 12 ?
Regan would not have anything to do with it. He's gone.
The Compliant Officer couldn't push it through. He's gone.
The new CO now has it under consideration. I wonder what the outcome will be this time?

The SPFL is not a happy place it seems.

No transparency? Ok Mr Milne, why was there such a mad rush to merge the SPL and the League?

Why are the SPFL and SFA at loggerheads when the same people govern both?

Finally, how happy is he with match fixing in the top league, which benefited his club only?

' Peter, Peter, Peter, our plan to destroy them Rangers bastards didn't work. We can't rely on Beaton every game. It's time to formulate Plan B'
