I remember the same comments made about Kamara disappearing or not fancying certain games.

10 goal midfielder who can dribble will do nicely, midfield is no longer a major weakness.

I checked Charlton fans 'Into the Valley' forum to see what they were saying about the possible departure of Aribo. Although they are not too happy about it, there appeared to be a general consensus that while they rate him as a good player, they don't regard him as irreplaceable. A few of them were of the opinion that he had a tendency to 'disappear' at times during games. While I will be pleased to hear officially that the guy has signed for us, I don't intend to let myself get too carried away before I've seen him play.
That's a standard response of a disgruntled fan to be fair. Wouldn't read much into that.

From seeing a lot of his clips I’m not sure he’s a ten , seems to play deeper most times , does a lot of running and winning the ball back but very tidy and comfortable in possession , Time will tell I suppose.

Don’t really think it is a ten that we need. If playing the Christmas tree, we have Arfield and now Stewart to make the late runs and score. By reputation, Ojo might do that too. I’d argue that Morelos might actually be most naturally a ten himself but he disagrees so that’s unlikely to happen.

What we need is 3 players playing 4,3,3 who can all do a shift defensively but also carry the ball forward. In Davis, Kamara and Aribo we would have that. Ideally one might be a little better at defending and one might be a little better at shooting. Jack and Davis specialise defensively. Aribo (and Dorrans) seem like they would specialise going further forward and shooting.

LOL... just had a snoop at the Charlton forum for any updates and came across this little nugget. One of their fans believes the "lure" of learning under the great Lee Bowyer should somehow be equivalent to that of Gerrard. Laughably deluded....

The lure of being coached by one of the premier league great midfielders would be pretty strong for a young player. Really hope he stays but wish him well if he goes to learn under Gerrard for a season or 2.
