Starting in July, they plan to have the season played to a finish over 4-6 weeks.

What price our mob to do the same?

Apologies if posted already.

Hope it happens so we know this shite is behind us but it’s pie in the sky.

Where was this announced? I haven't seen it mentioned.

Players would have to be back in training in June. This seems optimistic.

Footie will be back soon - the death toll is shaping up to be much lower than expected and schools will be back around May.

SPFL teams will lose around 100 players out of contract at the end of May - so restarting isn’t practical.

Fresh start in August seems about right.

I really can't see this happening. Getting everything up and running again is going to be huge.

Or they could show a bit of decency and just park the football 7ntil the nation is robust enough to accommodate a full season.

Of course they should, they won’t though, as unpopular an opinion as it is, our mob will move heaven and earth to ensure this season is played to a conclusion.

So extending the end of June deadline by a further 6 weeks.
Starting in July I would imagine clubs would need to resume training sometime in June - unlikely.
For Scotland there are 9 games for some clubs plus the Scottish Cup to complete. So even allowing two games per week we are probably looking at a 5/6 week schedule to complete the outstanding games which takes you into August. At which point we are, potentially, starting to eat into next seasons calendar.

Where are you reading this information m8? Need something to read that is positive during these difficult times.

Who knows what the Scottish game will even look like in July. Some clubs will be financially decimated and might not even have teams to put on the field.

The English game isn’t quite in the same predicament given it’s the richest game in the world, but plenty of their clubs will also feel this massively.

Do these srseholes live on the same planet?
What about out of contract players
Euro qualifiers
Pre season
Transfer window

A neighbour who is a head teacher, is saying schools won’t be back in September.

We will be lucky to see football in 2020

That's extremely optimistic

The English authorities are meeting again on 3 April before they make any decisions about anything.
What they have said is they want the Women’s Super League to be finished by August!!

The president of UEFA has said that the European football season will be lost if it’s not restarted by the end of June by at the latest.

please be right about the schools ffs!

Clearly just a "best case scenario" they need to have a plan in action for... because let's be serious there is very little chance of any football being played at the very least until August time and even thts at a stretch

If the league returns then so will the internationals. So now we have a packed schedule plus international managers calling players away for qualifiers, weakening the bigger teams. That's not going to be allowed

I agree with this. If football or sport in general resumes in 2020, it will be well into the last quarter of the year. There are just way too many unknowns at this point and until this virus tops out, sport just isn’t a priority

Money hungry whores only concerned about the TV millions they get and not about the people who are dying or those on the front line dealing with this

When they're converting buildings into hospitals, buying 10,000 ventilators and turning part of Birmingham airport into a mortuary. Also saying if we keep the death toll to under 20,000 then it's because we've listened and stayed at home, but people in charge of football put money before lives, it shows how crass those in charge really are.

Football administrators still refusing to open their eyes to what is going on in the World. Football starting again on 1 July, for example, would require players to be back training around 3 weeks before I’d suggest.

Will all those players, including our own, who have returned to their home countries during this crisis be able to even travel by then? The answer is no. Will large assemblies be allowed by then? The answer is no. If they think they can play behind closed doors, can they guarantee that tens of thousands won’t turn up outside the closed stadium that sees Liverpool win their first title in 30 years? The answer, again, is no.

Pie in the f*cking sky nonsense.

Schools back in May? Yet Mortuaries are being built.

Sorry pal but your post is utter nonsense

Not got a clue when things get back to something resembling normality but there’s no way the time limit you just invented will happen.

Schools will be back in May? Where are you getting this information from?
We'll be lucky to be out of our houses by the beginning of May. Also this is not going to be our last lockdown.
The government has provided economic plans for the next three months-at least.
Wake up and smell the coffee bear.

Gary Neville has been banging on about this a lot today too, given his standing at Sky, I would suggest there might actually be something in it.

I am just being honest I would not set foot in a football stadium until there is virtually no new cases at all.
We are several months away from this.
