This is a solid point and something they seem to be completely missing out on.

We win 55 and hopefully qualify for CL (given our Euro results why couldn't we?), we have a squad chalk full of high value assets, we are on the up and have a plan to break even on a smaller budget than them.

They don't qualify for CL again unless they majorly invest, which they can't as their wage bill is extremely high. Their assets are nearing the last 12 months of their contracts, they are depreciating in value, they have a clueless manager and replacing him with another Brenda will cost mega money.
