Compliance officer CW has left the SFA - new CO incoming

According to the sun

Meanwhile, Kris Boyd expects Rangers ace Alfredo Morelos to face a retrospective ban for his flashpoint incident with Ryan Porteous.

But only, he joked, if the SFA compliance officer "turns up for work".

Speaking in the aftermath of the Light Blue's 1-0 win against Hibs at Easter Road last night, Boydy made the cheeky comment while on Sky Sports.

Compliance officer Clare Whyte left the association a week ago, and the first port of call for any such matters is a panel of former referees.

Finbar Declan O'mentally challenged McTaig has accepted the role of Compliance Officer with the SPFL/SFA.
The appointment will begin retrospectively to highlight anything the outgoing C.O may have missed in relation to any time Alfredo Morelos was on the field of play. training, out shopping with his family or asleep in his own home .

Do other leagues & FA’s around Europe have a compliance officer?

Or is it just our diddy set up?

It’s a complete farce.

The game has no integrity when only periods of the season are subject to scrutiny by a Compliance Officer.

It a shambles idea in the first instance, but to have a chunk of the season not managed in the same manner them it gives rise to many problems and accusations of teams being treated differently (which we are).

I think the club has behaved impeccably this season in not responding to some of the shenanigans that have been happening. Perhaps when the season is wrapped up we will be much more vocal.

So how long a period can lapse before a player gets charged? Can the new CO come in to post in a months time, and go back and charge a player from this week?

Cardinal Brendan O'Shaughnessey

The only way the compliance officer will ever work is by giving it to someone with absolutely no links to Scottish Football and no allegiance any way. To continue giving the role to Celtic fans just isn't going to work.

However, there also needs to be a more open process to question the level playing field the CO is offering if there isn't one. The last couple of CO's have quite clearly and openly ignored many incidents carried out by Celtic players and that cannot be allowed any longer.

I have no doubt the SFA will make a rip roaring arse of the next appointment. They don't do anything other than make an arse of decision.

With the shortage of money in Scottish football rather than appoint a new compliance officer would it not make financial sense simply to utilise the "expertise" of the BBC Sportscene panel? As well as saving money it would allow "justice" to be dispensed quickly and as it is on national TV any complaints about lack of transparency would be dispelled.
Good suggestion. And as licence-payers we're already paying for the abysmal, delay, deny, deflect strategy that is termed as the BBC Complaints process, we may as well use that process and save Scottish Football some money.

The main idea of the CO was to prepare and present the 'case for the prosecution' at disciplinary hearings. The need arose after the SFA had their arse handed to them on a plate over Lennon by Paul McBride.

The farce is a lack of consitency in enforcement.

There is a small team at the SFA that identifies the cases that need review and puts them forward.. I believe it has now been decided that the actual representation can be done on an as required basis, so they don't need a full time CO.

Don't think Boyd was joking!

As in like Stewart Reagan and Neil Doncaster the unseen hand is running Scottish football and like any other business or institution they only give to their own

Like Clare, whoever gets the job will be having their online history professionally cleaned
Whoever it is will have a minimum social media presence and absolutely no friends or likes on any platform but somehow “applied” for the post or was “ head hunted”.

The Scottish Football Association are delighted to announce that Jackie McNamara has succeeded Clair Whyte in the role as Compliance Officer.

His first action will be to review whether Morelos stamp on Porteous was even a good stamp or not.
That would be a step in the right direction having an ex footballer who had played the game rather than what we have had in the past.

Don’t think they can afford a replacement

She was a disgrace to Scottish football.
I hope whoever comes in now will be their own person.
As was them who employed her. She did not get the job because of her ability and experience in football disciplinary matters. Could it be her religion and support for one club that got her the job? Her successor will need these same qualifications.

Looking at the SFA Rules and Regulations it is only the Compliance Officer that can issue a Notice of Complaint. Although the judicial panel has sat and handed down punishments this year these appear to be for citings last year (there doesn't appear to have been a N.O.C since 21st December 2020 - but I could be wrong).

Until she is replaced by someone (or even an entity - the SFA were considering employing a legal firm instead) I can't see Morelos being cited in accordance with the rules regardless of whether he should be or not.

But it is Rangers and Alfie so we know they'll try something.

Clare was a procurator physical deputy with a masters degree in human rights, but had no background in football, totally out of her depth.

It must be hard to find someone with a law background who also knows a lot about football.
Eniola Aluko has a law degree and will know a lot about football.

Next compliance officer should be a foreigner with no affiliation or leanings to any team. It's the only way the whole thing would be fair and balanced. Not a chance it'll happen though. It'll be someone else with mentally challenged leanings
