Yep, soro over Kamara and anyone they have over Kent is mind bending lunacy.

This type of thinking isn’t abnormal among them though. Some are realistic but many still believe they have better players, and we are just better coached.

Did they not only have one player with COVID ? Eduoard ?

Their players were banned for the Club not following protocols. However I think due to the number of matches our players were banned for the totals were actually more than theirs.

There was also no action taken against Griffiths for having a party.

Duffy for breaking bubbles and travelling on domestic airlines Dubai - England - RoI - England - Scotland

He genuinely said the reason they lost the league last year was due to Lennon, nothing to do with us.

Callum McGregor is better than any of our centre mids, Christie walks into our team, as does Edouard (you could make a case for him), but the best one was saying Forrest plays ahead of Kent! :D

He doesn't rate Goldson either and said as soon as Ibrox is full again he'll revert to being a bottler...

that is right a guy who is out for 9 months injured walking on crutches is taken away to a training camp, the only injured player they took.

there was multiple breaches of COVID protocols but the injured guy was the only one to get it.

not buying it.

- travelled on commercial flights all over the place
- self-tested after his manager said he was out
- claimed to be negative, plays but looks like he had Covid dripping out instead of sweat

They got more points per game during Lennon's time last season than JK's. I think they are in for a big shock when they realise that Lennon was just a problem with their club last season and not the main problem. The issue has been terrible recruitment.

They've dined out on the "Sevco" stuff for a decade now and it evident that a lot of them simply can't leave it behind. It's way beyond football rivalry for many of them now to the point it's a disease. A lot of them were mental conspriacy theorists anyway but this has just given then an extra level of stuff to look at in their minds.

It's going to be very difficult for any of them to get on with things and not have their Sevco fix.
 
This rhetoric that friendlies don't matter is laughable. Had they beat west ham 6-2 then they would be making the case for it. Does it not get tiring playing spin doctor. Their opinions on football related matters depends on what they and us have done in recent history.

Had we had pre season friendlies where we conceded six in one game and our players dropped to the floor like wet washing but they had managed to be dominating most of their friendlies including the one they lost 1-0 and concluded it with a great performance against Real Madrid then I can bet they would be trying to get us to believe that something special was afoot.

It's true you can't read too much in to a pre-season, especially the results. But if I wash my team being disjointed all pre-season then I'm going to go in to the season worried (even if they manage to get good results). If I watch them and they look organised, don't make too many mistakes and look to be up for it then I am going to be happy going in to the season. I am not for one second going to start to believe anything is guaranteed.
 
Apart from the famous 20 minutes they ‘won’ against us what gives them hope that things have reversed when they have lost players and still have a few who want away?
Their season will go the way of the Griffiths contract, nothing to suggest he can regain form but blind faith he could rediscover form from 5 years ago. Within a week they realise he is a fat nonce trousering them for cash.

To be fair I don't think friendlies can be taken too seriously. We didn't exactly do well against Tranmere, however there's absolutely no denying that beating Real Madrid 2-1 can be a huge confidence boost whereas losing 6-2 could have the opposite effect. That's just the nature of sport.

Of course you take friendlies seriously, you don't take the result seriously but how you perform matters. Had we got pumped 12-0 yesterday and the team had been all over the shot, you're telling me you would be going in to the season with the same level of optimism?

Couldn’t even make an argument for Edouard. Gerrard has assembled a team of fighters who work their arses off for 90+ mins every game. Edouard is a very good player but a lazy bastard that only plays when he can be arsed.

It also completely ignores how covid might affect athletes. Just because somebody isn’t lying in bed Ill with it doesn’t mean they’ll be any good for 90 minutes of football. Plus while we’re risking players on the pitch they’d also be infecting the rest of the squad, any one of which could and likely would become ill.

I work beside a couple of them. Both are actually decent guys and pretty fair about their fortunes. They weren’t happy after the West Ham game though. There was lots of familiar talk about, “You can see what he’s trying to do / it could be great if it clicks”, but both acknowledged that defensively they still look a complete shambles and neither were convinced Stavros was the man to sort that out.

I look at it this way: in order for them to somehow pip us to the title this season, we, a club who have already strengthened by adding two or three quality additions with more likely to come, are going to need to seriously deteriorate while this obscure D list manager with no previous experience of Scottish football, let alone British or European, is, with significant impediments clearly hindering any progress he may have hoped to have made at this stage, going to miraculously transform the Yahoos and negate the massive 25 point gap they finished adrift of us last term.

To put it into some sort of perspective, it would be a bigger shock than Wim Jansen preventing us from doing TIAR under Wattie.

Both are playing competitive games at the moment. The Swede will have zero impact. The Japanese player is a decent addition for them. He’s no mug. Whether he’ll fancy getting halfed by a Scottish carthorse is another matter entirely. The J-League like the A-League is played on a Dutch model of possession and certainly isn’t hell for leather in the pishing rain.

Our players have adapted and look fitter than ever and sharp and hungry. Only complacency can stop us and that doesn’t look likely.

My only other worry, especially if we have a couple more additions would be players becoming upset at a lack of game time. Such was the importance of 55 I think players were happy to be part of it. Our squad could become too bloated but I expect players to leave and/or be sold before the end of the window.

They obsess over us even more than the yahoos do. I think it's an attempt to create a rivalry that only exists in their heads. As if that puts them on a par with us. We have only one rival in Scotland and it's not them. Currently Hibs are a greater thorn in the side than they are.

The last post on that thread was July 1st. Over 3 weeks with no talk of 'sevco" is a record for them. I expect because they can see what's coming. They can see us totally dominating the league, and them, like we did last year.

Some of us think that too while many have reservations, for good reason. You just never know in football. But when you know even those who hate you think you're going to be dominant and they're fearing you it has to be a sign.

When the spiteful denialists are becoming quiet you might be encouraged to think we really are on the verge of another special season.

They’re left with new club/didn’t pay tax again. There’s no fun to be had with our results. Even when we’re knocked out of Europe their laughter is completely empty and meaningless because they know they’d give anything to be anywhere near the round we went out.

Ooh, take. Fine finisher at the right level, think he'd do well in Scotland; good movement and decent pace for a 31yo. Bit of a late bloomer but scored great at Serie B level and done well enough at A level given the teams he's played for and chances he's got. Bring him in, good to have a handsome Catholic up front again.

There is another round of qualifiers you need to take in to account.

Ranger v Malmo/Helsinki is QR3. We would then play QR 4 in either CL or Europa League. If we win QR3 then we are guaranteed group stage football in the Europa League as a minimum.

They are in QR2 so play PSV/Galatasary or Jablonec in QR3 of CL/Europa then would have QR4 in whatever tournament to navigate.

I just can’t see Furihashi being a success. Never seen him and no nothing about him but it just stinks of a Pedroesque signing.

Any defender they sign will be a failure in that system unless they have the pace of Usain Bolt.

He’s 26, going on 27, never played abroad and managed a paltry 6 caps for Japan.

Id be lying if I was impressed or fearful - and watching his highlights on YT is no barometer of actual in game threat,

He can’t be that good. He’s still playing in the J League at 26. The same league that has a player in his 50’s.

Hes only played 6 games for Japan and played for a team that’s finished 10th 8th and 14th since he signed.
