Alex Thomson Ch4 - Investigating Celtic Boys Club

Well said KYB.
Thanks GY. It's a very minor aside to the real victims but it certainly bears thinking about.

As I said about Celtic, if they had put half the effort they have put into covering up and enabling abusers into the football side of things, they'd probably be ahead of us in titles!

Same thing with the SFA. If they had addressed the problem immediately how many lives would they have saved? How many careers? How many children and parents were aware of this culture in Scottish football and said, nah you're no going to play football. Let's find something less dangerous for you to do.

Sickening.

For the first time I'm getting an uneasy feeling about this programme going out tonight.

I think they're about to " spread the flavour " in an attempt to dilute all the wrong-doing at Celtic.

Hope I'm wrong.
They will cover a few issues.

As far as I know, and please correct me if I'm wrong, City didn't have a systematic coverup that spanned 4-5 decades, multiple managers and boards, with them all in the know.

That's the scenario where I just don't think I could take any pride in calling myself a fan of such a club.

Your description? Yes. If the club did the right thing and hadn't been responsible for perpetuating the misery of generations of children, I could certainly still be a fan and support that club.
That`s the point mate. NO CLUB can be 100% immune from these bastards, but there is a way to handle it when it does appear.
One prominent club in the east end of Glasgow handled it wrongly and I`ll add actively encouraged it. It had to have been or it wouldn`t have went on for so long when so many knew.

Also, never forget. The SFA and SPFL are complicit and should not be getting away with this either.

It actually turns my stomach the thought of kids who had dreams of being footballers being abused by these creatures. What compounds it is the actions of that club. How do they expect the victims to ever move on if they continue to cover it up. This what about "yooz" as well is horrendous. Hoping that we get labelled is appalling. It does not matter which club these creatures worked for its abuse full stop. Now its about the actions they take to allow the victims the peace of mind to try and move on. I hope all involved are heavily punished for taking part in the abuse/cover up. Any other organisation that covered this up they would be all over it taking the "moral high ground" and their lefty socialist movement would be up in arms seeking justice for the victims.

I see this celtc star blog and cqn are working their agenda along the lines of :

Why blame only one club when 3 Glasgow clubs have history as do the sfa themselves. And after all, celtc are the first club to face up to it.

Sick, sick bastards.

Each of us has a duty to challenge this filth every time we see it.

Celtic is a sick, vile, rancid organisation which is still, after all these decades, unwilling to put its hand up to take responsibility for enabling, encouraging and covering up the most heinous and depraved crimes against innocent children.
In any normal society, the organisation would have been closed down and their stadium razed to the ground. Scotland, as we know, is no longer a normal society, with the SNP controlling the narrative and failing in its duty to protect its children from depraved monsters. I despair.

That still doesn't necessarily invalidate it. if our Club knew it's arse from its elbow it would issue a statement after the programme calling for an immediate, independent and public investigation into this crime in Scottish Football to be carried out by a police force from England, although I'd prefer the FBI, myself.

But, we won't, will we?

for example how can you get just 6 years in Torbetts case for multiple sex crimes over decades including a sex crime against a 5 year old? Its disgusting and the Judicial system needs sorted or at least investigated. Why are we not seeing protests in the street regards why Scotland views these crimes so leniently?

over to you Humza Yousaf

The sentences for sex crimes against children are ludicrously low. I know of cases where people guilty of persistent abuse of relatives got less than 3 years. Compare with the sentences given to those who robbed Gleneagles and it tells you where the priorities lie

The fhilth are the product of the religious cult that spawned them establish by a priest and played by and for R.C.s under the umbrella of the Roman Catholic Church .
An organisation who's history is riddled with rape and abuse but have the political power and a well oiled P.R. backroom staff to cover it up.

Nail them to the floor and get the victims what they truly deserve, closure and justice.

Note the Celtic fans who continually throw in what about this guy and that at Rangers, it;s deflection and whataboutery. If Rangers are in the wrong, it will come out. However, their club continues to this day to deny their ilk sexually assaulted young boys.

At least 6 employees that we know of from that horrible club .

Nothing showing on Ch 4 s schedules about this being broadcast tonight
Can anyone confirm time

AFAIK there is only one club that allegedly knew what was going on, and subsequently paid the victims family to keep quiet, to protect the good name of that club.

These imbeciles are trying to justify it, because it went on at 3 Glasgow clubs?, according to them.

They are sick in the head.

Hopefully the time has come where the entire truth will come out, and every last one of the victims will finally see justice done.

Cheers mate.
If you're asking for the benefit of debating with a mentally challenged, then there's absolutely no point. Everybody knows what went on, everybody knows what went on at parkhead. They don't do facts or truth. What they do want though, is for there to be kids raped at Rangers, yet they call us sick for keeping their sordid, seedy past in the limelight

Seems to be forgotten that they gave a youth player a pro contract to bribe him into not reporting sexual assault.

That should be dynamite

I don't debate with that scum.

I believe Hibs knew what he was up to and showed him the door.
They never informed anyone within football, and he then got a job with Rangers.
He made remarks to a young footballer, who reported him.
Rangers kicked him out the club.

There's also no way Alistair Hood didn't report it to the police imo.

Yeah putting his name on here wouldn't help. Hopefully if we do ever get an inquiry this sort of thing will be part of it.

Heard rumours before about another player (again won't mention the name) who Tommy Burns took him to every club he went to after he left Celtic.

Now again this is just hearsay I heard from others who played with/against this boy as we were in same age group playing youth football back in the 90s.

Sometimes wonder how deep it goes sickens me to my stomach as Gerry King another one convicted of abusing actually tried to sign me for Celtic boys club in 1992.

How many lost souls and ruined lives tragic really is.

And yet mentioning it is pointscoring apparently

This will either blow the issue wide open or confirm that the fhilth have and are being protected from the highest level,
Remember we are in the middle of a high profile child abuse enquiry in Scotland that has conveniently omitted the fhilth,That in my mind is not a coincidence that is individuals or organisations pulling strings

Tommy Burns is a name that always pops up but every person who ever mentions him has nothing but good things to say about him.

I know a few guys who played with Celtic's youth teams and they said he was absolutely brilliant.

I can't imagine him being an abuser at all.

Perfectly, if harshly, put BMC.

They are a strange cult.
