Ammy Football players among us - What boots do you wear?

Take it you’ve tried specialist insoles for the plantar fasciitis? Might not just be the boots mate

Plantar fasciitis.

Says the predators were killing the soles of his feet.

Bout £100 and binned after 2 wears
I had similar issues a couple of years back playing indoor fives. Got a half size larger Sambas then got plantar fasciitis insoles for them. Made a massive difference.

As for wide feet, I always found Adidas to be a little narrower than other brands for football boots. Nike, Joma, and Puma were always my preference.

Adidas Mundials and World Cups is the only right answer here

Take the wee man to see a Podiatrist. He might have problems with his arches on his feet.

Boots - Copa or Puma King

Wide feet here and struggled myself with the new predators . Wearing under armours similiar to mcgregors super thin upper to the boot nice and light . Probably the comfiest of the new style boots i have tried.

If he's been properly diagnosed with plantar fasciitis, have you tried the Strassburg night-sock that stretches your achiles back, using an adjustable strap.
I had a bout of this when I was younger, affected me playing and running and this fixed it quickly.
There's different brands, that will all work https://thesock.com/

Yeah, he’s been properly diagnosed with it. Wasn’t much available treatment iirc. Rolling feet over the wee massage balls, Tennis balls, frozen water bottles etc but don’t think it made too much difference when it had flared up.

Will look again at insoles and those sock things. Cheers lads

Boy has problems with his feet and couldn’t wear his last pair of predators so looking to avoid that again.

Anyone recommend a decent pair, soft leather and decent for broad feet?

Played and managed for 17 years. Adidas boots are known for exacerbating these types of injuries. You can try stuffing the shoe with ice bags or tennis balls and freezing the boot. Once there is a stretch in the leather its much better. Nike are usually a better fit for broader feet but they don't offer as much protection.

for the PF make sure the tennis ball thing is done every day at least 2 or 3 times a day, and look in to getting a bosu board. Strengthening the muscles around the ankles can help a wee bit with the foot pain.

I'm a black boots only type of guy. I have Adidas Copa Gloro's for Astro/FG and I've got Nike Tiempos for Grass/SG

I'm surprised the physio or doc never recommended both?
Give the socks a go. I played and ran with pain for a good while. The socks fixed it in days / a couple of weeks. Good luck.

Pattrick Platini’s. :))

Best imo of all time Adidas World Cup. Stood the test of time. Awesome boots.

He had insoles before but not sure if they were specifically for PF.

Going a bit rogue here but I had bother with my feet as well (won’t get in to the gory details), and changed to New Balance boots, and haven’t had a problem since!

I wear white boots that say "chase" & "me" on either heel

What kind of problems?

My kid suffers from "severs" and we found that ASICS boots worked well for him as they have a slightly raised heel which takes pressure off of them a little.
I agree with this. I have a pair of Asics and they are designed with a slight raise that helps the muscles and tbh I’d say it definitely works.

If he has wide feet then the Nike GT or Puma Future, Puma One would be decent for him.

The new Predator Edge are very stiff and I haven’t tried the Freaks so not sure about them.

ProDirect have a sale on this now but also MandM direct have some real good deals on boots right now. Can get some elite level boots for about £40 right now depending on the size
