Ballboys will not be allowed to hand the ball to players from next season in England

Will there be cones spread around the park with a ball on each one consistently? Could stop clubs using their ball boys to slow the game down.
You would like to think so.

If so, I don't think is a nonsense rule.
I still remember that wee filth ball boy who kicked the ball away from McGregor so he had to wait for him to get the ball.
Wanted McGregor to launch him up in the air. :))

I can see why they might have brought it in, but its a bag of shite.

However, it might be better having balls set up around the park rather than having to hunt one down in some situations.

If they want to speed th game up deal with the players taking the throws/kicks.

Yip. Ball boys / girls can only retrieve the ball and put it on a cone, from which the players have to retrieve the ball themselves. No idea if there are minimum / maximum limits on how many cones there should be, or how far apart they are spaced. If not and it's introduced up here, you just know that at some grounds there'll be like 2 cones when we visit, to break the game up as much as possible. Bring in the multi-ball system to speed the game up, then introduce this to slow it down again. Hardly progress.

Off of a cone or drop kick style from both hands ?

They had it in the league cup final between Liverpool and Chelsea, made the whole multi ball thing a bit redundant as the cones where a good few yards from the touch line so still took a bit of time retrieving a new ball.

Instead the player must recieve the ball from the top of a cone.

L another fucking nonsense pointless rule being brought into the game.

Is this latest stroke of ingenuity a device to stop the home team getting a quick ball from the ball boys? So now the home team can use the cone system to slow the availability of a ball to the away team?
Have the SNP taken over football administration?
Fiddling around with utter meaningless nonsense while the long-standing fabric of the game deteriorates?

Without a doubt, you will see two balls on the pitch on a regular basis. Teams that want to waste time will just grab/kick different balls and take throw-ins from different places and pretend it was accidental.

At nearly every ground we go to in Scotland the ball boys rarely give us the ball and do their own team it slows us down.

Yes we use it against big European teams but we would gain more from this rule than lose.

It's a good thing

Game doesn't stop now in that scenario think if its not interrupting play at first opportunity should be removed

Yes can still be abused but it favours the attacking team

Yet goalies will still be allowed about 2 minutes for a goal kick.

How about the refs grow a pair and add on the proper amount of added on time.
