Barnsley owner Paul Conway insists he can break the stranglehold of Celtic and Rangers as he sets his sights on adding to his group's football empire

It works for clubs like Red Bull and the City football group as they're rich enough and have clubs on nearly every continent, lets them scout and recruit players, keeping them on the continent to play football until they're ready to come to europe and flogged on loan until they make profit.

I'm not sure it works particularly well when you're not putting in massive amounts of money and ultimately just creating unofficial partnerships between the owned clubs where one will be the priority and if any of the clubs deemed on the lower end of the totem pole develop a great player, won't have them for long before they're moved to another of the clubs owned by the same person. Just look at Aberdeen, since them and Atlanta came into partnership, they've taken reserve players on loan from Atlanta, took their new manager from the Atlanta reserves. They're clearly the number 2 club in that partnership and seem to be going backwards rapidly. Brentford and Midtjylland are the only one of the top of my head that has seen both clubs prosper from something like this that wasn't funded by companies or countries worth tens of billions.
