My father has this horrible disease and it is utterly devastating slowly watching your loved one disappear over time.

I’ve seen first hand what this evil illness can do. It robs people of their personality and leaves the shell of the person to sadly drift on, unaware of the heartache round about them. A truly awful illness, and I wish the Auld family all the best.

It is sad and he was a real character and a very good player- but Auld was also one of the most sleekit dirty players of his day. He broke Davie Provan's leg at Ibrox in 1967 when he deliberately came over the top of the ball into Provan's shin.
