Growing up witnessing football in the late 80s and through the 90s makes me feel so lucky to have had so many proper world class footballers from so many clubs and countries, even from the lesser nations we had Hagi, Prosinečki, Stoichkov etc to name a few, those players lit up the old style European Competition and World Cups although they were never going to win anything on the World stage..feels like there were far more superstars of yesteryear than what is around today, maybe just me getting older, the Messi/Ronaldo debate bores the tits off me... Give me Zidane/Van Basten/Romario/Cafu/Baggio/Maldini
Carlos/Redondo/Gullit/Thuram/Del Piero/Bergkamp and 5 times more World class footballers all day long over this pair of pricks....
