Bo Jimmy Thelin (Aberdeen manager)

Jimmy Thelin in Aberdeen would mean the death of exciting headlines. The city's newspapers can retire their headline writers or send them on a long holiday to a sunnier place.

In interviews, he is perhaps Sweden's most boring person. He rarely or never offers anything personal, refuses to tip tables or speculate.

He is a decent and honest person with sound values, devoted to the profession, meticulous and professional. He never criticises a verdict out of respect for the referees.

It is one of the things he has become best known for in Sweden. He has never complained about a referee's decision on TV, in newspapers, or other interviews.

But Jimmy Thelin is exceptional at transfer finance - and building a squad over time. If you give him a couple of years to refine players, sell on more expensive and replace cheaply, he is the best in Sweden at getting a team to overperform against the invested pound.

He usually uses the 4-3-3-formation but can switch to 4-4-2 during matches. The focus is on hard work in the defensive game with high pressure, a quick transition game, as well as a game build-up with game turns (diagonal passes) and a shorter combination game closer to the goal.

Let's see how long this lasts...

Rare you see a non British or Irish manager at a Scottish club outside us or them, and considering how it's gone for the two most recent ones, i wouldn't recommend any of them take any of the other ten top flight jobs. The Italian manager Killie hired a few years ago was gone after months despite them being 5th at the time because the players didn't take to someone who brought a more tactical approach.

Apparently done well in the past.

Finished 2nd in his league and was linked with the Swedish national job.

Guess it can’t be any worse than Glass, Goodwin, Robson, Leven, Warnock and Leven.

"He can't be any worse" never ends well.

That being said, they're one sacking away from Neil Lennon being their only option so I see the logic.

Stewart Baxter/Stockholm syndrome is the term.

Hopefully he tries to get them to play football they are long ball set piece merchants.

League needs more progression re managers not just the usual Lennons of the world getting them

They've managed to sign the most boring man in Swedish football. He'll think he's found his long lost brother when he has the post match meal with big Levein. "Chicken casserole with extra dumplings? How did you know? And that's a lovely grey woolen sweater..."

Hopefully as successful as the last Scandinavian manager at the sheep. Didn’t score a goal in something like his opening 9 league games.

Ebbe Skovdal from Denmark got them relegated although they were saved by league reconstruction
