To think I saw his first ever goal for Argentina and Davie Cooper’s masterpiece against the tarriers within a few weeks at Hampden.
1979 wasn’t all bad.

I don’t disagree with other posters who criticise his personal life and morals but the man had a charisma and presence that other greats like Pele, Cruyff, Messi and Ronaldo just didn’t or don’t have. One suspects that if he’d been a politician he could have been a very dangerous character indeed. All that aside, he was an unbelievable footballer.
