Champions League Seeding

How does seeding work for Europa League winners? Is it based on their general European record, their country’s coefficient, or straight into Pot 1 as European Champions!?

Add to this we will have 17-18 fall off our record next year and almost certainly replace it with an improved coefficient for 22-23. I'm not sure every third seed would be in a position where its almost certain that next year's coefficient is better than this one.

Oof that’s some bonus for winning it as well.

So on another note, do Hearts go into Champions League qualifiers? Or does the next best team in seeding move up?

It goes to the next country in line, in this case Turkey move up to the 3rd qual round for the league path, someone else will move to 2nd and imagine a country slightly lower down will get an extra slot.

Was a thread earlier in the week about fenerbahce fans rooting for us for this reason

49 is for next season and already takes the removal of 17-18 into account. If we don't win tomorrow night we'll be seeded for both CL qualifying rounds. If we drop down into Europa League groups we are virtually certain to be a Pot 1 team.
 
Changed these days

Pot 1 is the EL winners, UCL Winners and the Champions of the Top 6 Nations

Pots 2 - 4 are done on club coefficient
