Corner Kicks

I’m afraid this shower have returned to all the bad habits, slow pedestrian play between the back line, long aimless passes either out of play or to the opposition with no one near them and what you’ve touched on op, waiting for captain fantastic to trot about and take every throw in, every free kick, every corner and every penalty is returning to the insanely infuriating pathetic showings.
Total lack of energy and drive and I don’t see Tav getting into his teammates as I think the core group are to pally.

Last night corner after corner, same outcome with Tav..
Why can't we mix it up as opposed to the same thing time and time again, even have somebody else take a corner. I am sure someone else can put a cross in the box..
Definition of insanity is to continuously keep doing the same thing hoping for a different outcome.
I felt 1H they looked quite threatening while 2H they were the opposite I wonder if that was us or them or a mixture I’d like to see the analysis of them

We have no one capable of putting the ball in the net from a corner.

Take short corners.

They’vebeen a shambles for years. There was a brief spell earlier this season when they looked better but we’ve reverted to the usual dross. So easy to defend.

Month after month. Week after week it gets worse yet NO ONE at the PC ever bothers to question the manager over it.

How many times did the second ball land in the area around the penalty spot at we had absolutely no one anticipating it? Painful viewing!
It feels like we are two men short when the ball gets free. They never seem to be on the edge of the box waiting to skelp it.
I have said it since Gerrard left, we miss Tom and his set piece work.

It's the same every game. An utter waste of our time and just gives the opposition a rest.

I remember when a corner kick made you feel excited and gave you hope that we could somehow create something.

How times have changed. Do we even practice for them in training?

We scored v Ross County with a near-post flick on which we need to do more often.

Tav tends to put it straight onto a defender's head and it's easily headed clear.

It doesn't help that Goldson seems to be his main target and he's not good in the air for a big man.

Diomande took a few corners recently and looked decent but don't get why Tav has to take every one and has done for seasons. Surely there's someone else capable.

Every corner into the box last night bar one that the gk caught, was a good ball into the box, but we just don’t attack the ball well enough.

If it were possible in the rules I'd be happy to have our corners converted to goal kicks for the opposition so we can cut out the waste of time taking them. We're absolutely awful at them and no one at the club seems to be concerned as we've been like this for two or three seasons at least.

A couple of times Cantwell tried to take a quick throw in then got the signal to leave it to Tav to amble over and take it, by that time everybody is covered.

Two or three times last night Tav put a decent ball into the front post but Silva wasn't able to get a good flick on

absolutely woeful

Didn’t see game as I was thankfully working but my question to you is who told him to leave it? Was it the gaffer or the captain?

I actually thought Tav put in a few decent corners last night, just our players refusing to throw themselves at them. Goldson connected with a couple but had no direction.
Ye but from memory only in 1H then we were weak and I think it was the final one , an inswinger , he plumped right into the goalkeepers hands

Is it perhaps that it’s quantity over quality hit similar each time without changing and you will both get better ( theory ) and even if you get average outcomes we will get more than others because we get more corners ?

Its a good question for Clement. There has been no improvement simce he took over. Surely from a squad we would be able to mix it around?
The sad conclusion i 've come to is that we must practise corners all week with our shite defence and attack and it must look as though we're good at them.
Put in some real defenders or attackers and you would soon spot the difference.
This aspect has been a major gap not addressed by PC .

It’s simply poor management. One look at the stats suggests the delivery isn’t good enough yet the manager doesn’t seem to have the bottle to tell tav to give someone else a shot.
It's not the delivery in reality is how we attack the ball.

Goldson actually got one on target yesterday that in itself is a miracle. He gets on the end of a lot of them but is not getting to them to get a clear header. Most of the time they end up over the bar.

We should be switching them up a lot more and bu that I mean have tav 30 years from goal to shoot take them short anything to get them moving.

We do move opposition players enough by just moving and changing starting position all over the park never mind corners.

At one point last night goldson had not one of the 5 players in front of him to pass to or even running just standing behind a fine defender

this in a nutshell
management cannot make a player miss so many chances
the amount of good chances created for the CBs from corners is ridiculous - yet we have 1 goal from the CBs this season

forgetting the goal anomaly that is Tav & Sterling as he plays all over the place

Ridvan - 28 games 2 goals
Barisic - 31 games 1 goal
Souttar - 37 games 1 goal
Goldson - 47 games 0 goals
Davies - 12 games 0 goals
Balogun - 15 games 0 goals

utterly scandalous from the CBs

BBs numbers wrt assists are way above wee red van man too not sure abt assists from the others but it’s not going to be good

It’s hit or miss as the delivery is generally shite and apart from Souter we have nobody that isn’t afraid to put their head in where it might hurt.

For all the wages spent on coaches at Rangers i find it very lazy that when we have a corner Tav takes it and its cleared by the opposition. Rinse and repeat.
Surely professional coaches can look at variations and see we just horse it into the box and its cleared. Nothing, absolutely nothing comes from our corners.

Clement shot down a reporter who once asked if he was bringing in a set piece coach.

He said that was an area he specialised in, and he did the coaching on that aspect. (Paraphrasing).

With total responsibility comes total accountability.

Hyperbole. If it isn't literally all of them, then it's certainly the vast majority.

Why do our fans continue defending Tav when it isn't warranted?

If you need to make up rubbish to back up your point then perhaps it isn't the point you think it is?

If we had a left footer on the pitch the other night, they would've been taking corners as well, as has been the case all season.

The throw in patter is absolutely chronic as well. Full backs take throw ins, get over it.

It really is something to behold the lengths people will go to in order to shut down criticism of our captain.

He isn't good enough to captain us and he never was. I've been saying it on here for years.

One title in seven years since returning to the top flight. Soon to be eight years.

Our standards have fallen beyond belief and some don't have a problem with that.

I think this is where Tav has a weakness and he doesn't seem to see it. He has this thing where he will do the same thing over and over and over again and get nothing, but he will keep doing it expecting this to change. It's been like this for ages, even when we had Alfie up front, Tav would send in high crosses the full game, and the fact Alfie can't header a ball and the 6-foot tall defenders just mopped it up meant nothing. Going to the by-line and cutting it in low for the small striker never seemed to enter his mind.

Perfectly entitled to that opinion, so why the need to exaggerate and lie about the rest of it?
