Yes they are added immediately, or they certainly used to be.
The updates are always every 3 months. July, October, January, April throughout the season.

No Rangers TV takes weeks for the points to get added.
No they are definitely not instant, and not even guaranteed in April. They get processed manually at whatever time they feel like it basically.
‘’Members will earn points throughout the season and approximately every 12 weeks, new MyGers points will be totalled and used to update tier statuses. The Club will communicate the date of the each update with members.
Please note that in-between tier updates, all MyGers points balances will remain static (the new points earned will only be added to your total when the updates are being processed).’’
That is from the My Gers page on the website. Sounds like the points won’t show immediately but technically they will be added anyway, as any points you’ve accrued within each 12 week window can only be recognised at the next points update regardless.

That roughly translates to the edmiston house points will be added straight away but it won't change your status if it takes you up a level. In the past though the points total would take priority so you could show as silver but the system thinks that you are gold.

Correct, the points will be added but your tier will remain as it was at the previous update.
However, I remain convinced that the system ballots away tickets based on a person's points total rather than the tier they are listed under. This is backed up by the fact that people in Silver have had points added that takes them past the existing threshold for Gold and then been allocated Parkhead when in theory they should not have been eligible for Parkhead as a Silver member.
This is correct, if you are doing this to get above 1267 points for a Cup Final ticket it won't work, the requirements were added to people's accounts based on points totals on 25/01.

It was abused for Seville and know plenty of people who got tickets due to doing it.
Absolutely I got a free one for Seville so it didn’t affect me but shite on people who missed out due to these loopholes, I missed it anyway due to passport like an idiot
