Sent up to the loft to get Christmas deccys and I happened across this old issue and it makes interesting reading.
Now, when we mention Walter Smith on here it's almost sacrilege to criticise our former manager. I'll freely admit I was never his biggest fan, I didn't find his preferred style of football easy on the eye and that applied even when we were winning trebles or had Gazza,Laudrup et al plying their trade at Ibrox. In my mind we could and should've been much better to watch and reading the old mag it seems most contributers were of similar mind.
The Gub, The Bluenosebear, Sherbet Dab and Paisleyprod all had articles that were less than complimentary about Walter and remember this was around a month before we clinched the title at Tannadice.
Proof positive that time dulls the memory on style while substance ie results endure.
