Perhaps I'm being misty eyed and remembering something that it wasn't but feel this was the last one that really sticks out.

14 & 18 were the best back to back world cups since 82/86.

I think Qatar "imported" a load of Brazilians when they got the World Cup awarded, so might shock a few teams.

Heat is a factor mate , but players will only be half way through season and flying , instead of at the end of a 50-60 game season for a lot of them .

I live in Saudi Arabia, about a 4 hour drive from Doha. There will be no issues with heat as such. Indeed in December last year some nights the temp dropped to about 14Deg overnight. It will be mid 20s during the day, maybe a little warmer at the start of the tournament.

I've only taken Mon 21st Nov off for it.

WFH Tuesday and Friday anyway and will prob take 5th/6th off for the last 16 then everything else should be fine.

I always take the first day/weekend of a tournament off and have some mates round if possible. Unfortunately for the Euros it was the day of Eriksons incident which kinda put a dampener on it for a bit.
