Get this Kamara money spent today!

With the imminent transfer of Glen Kamara to Leeds, surely the board should be releasing the cash to invest on a centre half & left back.
There is no real cover for Barisic or Yilmaz. Balagoun brought in for a bit of cover is not enough as Goldson & Souttar as yet aren’t gelling. Transfer window closing & it looks like we go with what we have which is a real worry.
Get it spent Rangers!

It’s going to be so depressing if we don’t bring someone in. After qualifying for the CL last season we were all waiting on the transfer that never came and that just lowered the mood.

A never believed we were getting 5.5 million or he was going to Leeds, a hope am wrong but a don't see either happening

From Phil Hay, the oracle of all things Leeds

Leeds United have agreed a deal to sign Glen Kamara from Rangers.

The fee for the 27-year-old is around £5million and the midfielder is travelling today.
Here's hoping mate

Throwing money about in the last day of the transfer window smacks of desperation, unless replacing like for like in the squad, and Kamara has not been part of it. We have already signed loads of players and have a big squad as it is. We will likely need to get a tune out of the players we already have, for the moment.

If Beale can’t do it then we get someone who can. The answer isn’t always “let’s just spend more money and buy more players”. The jury is still out, but it is debatable whether the team has improved overall over the last 3 or 4 windows.

It's not getting reinvested. The Kamara money basically means we've a net spend of 0 this window which has always been the aim of the board.

Balogun and Sterling were the defensive signings. If we get anything it'll be a loan.

“No real cover for Barisic or Yilmaz” they are the cover for each other!

Big Johnley is good enough at Spfl level and hopefully he will continue to develop. We should put some trust in him and some of the academy players.

Did the manager not say that the sale of kamara would get us to a break even point in terms of transfer business.
Which is great, if it's working.

What I would query in that case is how are we currently operating financially, given we had CL income, ST sales, MyGers, merchandising, bigger sponsorships etc. Are we at a stage where we can only buy depending on sales? Is there no surplus money?

If kamala goes for 5 Mill and we got 4 for salaka 2 for Colac 1 for Tillman and paid 9 for the two centre forwards and 3.5 for Lammers and 1 for cifuentes our net spent is 1.5 Mill

I seriously wish people would stop suggesting or stating that we have already spent the Kamara money. It's nonsense. We havnt received it yet so what if the deal doesn't go through. That would suggest we have overspent by say £5m already. Sorry but it's so far wrong. Beale was given a budget higher than previous managers. Gio spent £15m last summer. We budget on Europa League so the fact we have that means we are on track for the budget to spend. There was zero anywhere to suggest the outgoings was ever dependent on incoming money. So at the end of the day Beale has spent the estimated same as Gio so even without sales should still have had some to spend. The fact if after today goes through we will have brought back in £10m or so then this should also have been spent or the majority of it. If it hasn't then although I agree Beale has been backed by the board, it then means a lot less if they are taking sales back to balance anything. We can't set a budget but then say afterwards but we had to bring money in. With this extra money we should be bringing a few in. If we don't then it's time to question if he has been backed or not.

Yup agree with this and OP. Dragging our heels.

What a riot of a thread, OP and some of the replies.
Quite happy with your lot then? Never mind winning the league , do we even push them till the end of the season?
They have made a poor start to the season but are willing to release funds to better their squad. Whereas we seem to be happy to go with what we have.

In his after match TV interview Beale hinted that there were no more incomings

Now he has said kind of stuff before and other things have happened but after last night I think the spending is done this window

Signing Balogun looks to be our only CB option as Sterling would be a last resort so unless we shift Davies which seems unlikely then it may be what we have till January

Do we still loan out King ?
