Going to the piggery with half a team injured

We played them twice when they had an absolute patchwork defence and we shit the bed both times. There is no such thing as bad luck, you sign injury prone players you get injured players. You sign aging players with low resale value, and on high wages you stagnate the development of younger, more profitable assets. You let players run down their contract when you look to them to run through walls when you need them, when they are looking for their next move then you get what you fucking deserve.

Did we really have half the team injured?

Sima, Danilo, goldson (who was out the team), ballogan.. would anyone injured start? Maybe Cortes?

Let’s flip things. How would we do if this was the scenario?

We started with fully fit Goldson and Ridvan in the back line, fully fit Sima, Danilo and Cortes up front. A fully fit Lundstram Dio and Cantwell in the middle. Meanwhile Celtc have injuries and are without Vickers, Johnston, O’Reilly, Kyogo and Maeda. McGregor and Hatate are half fit.

How might that go?

Only Carter Vickers was missing, other than that it was their usual back four.

Honestly, probably still lose

To use the word retarded in any reply is absolutely disgusting.

Apologies mate, & to anyone else it caused offence to.

As well as it being a ridiculous word to use, there was no need for me to be abusive in general.

I should have simply asked why you didn't think Sima, Cortez, Ridvan etc would have made a difference instead of diving in like that.

Went there today with so many players injured. And going dowm to 10 men. Different game if we can play a full team
We played a full game with them at Ibrox with no red cards with all the fans in the stadium. No team has no injuries at this stage of the season - they were without key players for weeks as well. Good teams have the squad depth and quality to get by we don’t. 11 v 11 both teams fully fit we are behind in terms of quality.

It'll continue until the club address the incompetent Physio/medical team. Four seasons of players being out with what is described as a knock only for them to be out for months.
Have they ever got an injured player back fit and playing ahead of schedule?

Other clubs manage it.
Get them to fk.
Enough is enough.

Injuries have played a huge part, there's no question. I'd actually fancy our chances with the likes of Sima and Cortes running at their dire defense. Not convinced yet about Danilo but he's a better finisher and seems more intelligent than Dessers. Yilmaz at the back is a huge upgrade on Barisic.

Just having most of the squad fit can help up the overall levels as players are competing for places. We've never really had that all season.

Its a good point, well made.

I don't see pointing out our injury list as being an excuse for losing, but it certainly has to be factored in.

We rarely score first to put them under pressure, then the inevitable happens.

We've seen this too often.

That’s because one team comes out and imposes themselves on the game. We are scared stiff of Celtic from the players to the management

There is no way you can think our injury situation didn't impact.
But
That doesn't excuse Clements failure to set up in a manner that gave us a chance but instead he tried the same thing again that hasn't worked before and didn't work again.

Our injury list is horrific tbh and as another poster pointed out, if you applied those injuries to their team you'd feel confident if we were at full strength.

I totally agree and would love to hear his defence of that it would maybe help the fans to understand why he’s playing that way

Would be good to hear him asked. Instead he'll be asked if there's any injuries for tomorrow night, or if some youngsters might get a game.

The injury situation at our club is a scandal, players who at the first sign of injury concerns should be moved on immediately.History is showing that persevering with them is the wrong thing to do.

The injury talk is all excuses to me.
We are clearly doing something wrong to be having so many out.

That is the question and fixing this must be one of the priorities for next season.

People can write off the injury list all they want and simply claim we are not good enough but there is absolutely no doubt it has hurt us over the years - even in our biggest match in the Europa final, we played with no fit strikers.

It is a problem year after year.

If there is an issue with the pitch, fix it.
If there is an issue with the facilities at Auchenhowie, fit it.
If we are signing weak or injured players then stop it.
If our medical team is shit then replace them
If it is a case of teams being over physical against us them complain complain complain - but it must be done quietly, otherwise it will get worse.

I feel our team is too small

IMO

1. pre-season was a shambles that fucked us
2. the disjointed squad balance meant that someone out was rushed back due to lack of options (e.g. Sima)
3. continually keeping players at the club who we know will be missing for at least half a season (e.g. Jack, Roofe)

Listened to Wayne Rooney after the Utd v Arsenal match and he was saying that when he played for Utd, unless it was a major injury he wanted to play every match and if a niggle, didn't bother him but a lot of the Utd players appear to make injuries, no matter how innocuous as an excuse not to be picked.

Sometimes wonder if we have a similar problem.

Goldson, Balogun, Matondo, Cortes, Sima, Danilo, Jack.

That's quite a list. Some essential some not.
Does that mean we win absolutley not but it 100% makes us stronger had we been able to use them injured players. A front 3 of sima dessers cortes we were much better. If buts and maybes
