HEARTS have issued a fresh rallying cry for their supporters to snap up tickets for next week's Scottish Gas Scottish Cup semi-final against Rangers.

The Jambos fought hard to secure a 50/50 split for the match - with Ann Budge prepared to stump up the bill for any briefs which remain unsold.

But, according to the Daily Record, as many as 5,000 tickets from the allocation of 21,000 remain.

And that could mean the Jambos hierarchy putting their hand in their pockets for the best part of £200,000.

It could also affect Hearts' hopes for a future50/50 split on such occasions - although the Jambos will be hopeful that two weeks will give fans enough time to get their tickets for the showpiece.

The Jambos wrote in a statement: "Supporters with 20+ loyalty points can now buy additional tickets for Hearts’ Scottish Gas Scottish Cup semi-final tie with Rangers.

The Jambos meet the Ibrox side at Hampden on Sunday, April 21st at 3pm with the winner advancing through to the showpiece final to face either Aberdeen or Celtic.

"Currently, fans with 5+ loyalty points can purchase two tickets for the match at the national stadium.

"Now, supporters who have 20+ loyalty points can purchase an additional two tickets and up to a maximum of four per account (this includes fans with 20+ LPs who have already purchased tickets).

"Last month the club secured an initial 50-50 allocation of tickets, giving as many Hearts fans as possible the opportunity to cheer on Steven Naismith’s team.

They are going to go pretty close to selling their allocation, the figures mentioned in the first post aren't really the I told you so some are making it out to be

They haven't sold 21k tickets though, that's the issue.
They have bought and paid for 21,000 tickets. They could give them all away for free for all they want as it's their allocation.

There's what? 10 days until the game and not on public sale yet. They will be close to filling their allocation and what they don't sell to fans they will probably give to people who usually couldn't afford to go.

The fact that 5+ loyalty points allowed them to buy TWO tickets is a joke in itself when season ticket holders at Ibrox can’t get one.
So they might have sold 16,000 but that could have been 8,000 regular attendees buying one for themselves and another for a mate that never goes.
Yet they demand 50/50 split and get it.

To be fair if they only have 5k left and a public sale to go, they won't be far away, they have out their money where their mouth is so no bog deal from me.

This should be the end of the argument for this 50/50 pish. Give them an initial allocation of 15000 odd, they can request more once these have sold. If that happens go up to 19000. When they realise they aren't selling any more the unallocated section goes back to Rangers a week or two before the match to be sold to real fans who want to go and watch their team.

You can't tell club how to sell the allocation

We could do it different ourselves

Offering tickets so people with a purchase history can bring 3 pals with them who may have never bothered their backside to watch Hearts is ridiculous in trying to prove a point to get 50% allocation.

This situation should never be allowed again. Fair enough be given a 50/50 allocation but clubs shouldn't be able to offer someone 4 tickets each just to get it sold.

Same old, same old with these amateur hour clubs.
Always moaning they don't get a fair split, then when they do they never sell them.
Laughable.

Got to laugh at that ""Aberdeen or Celtic"" bit.

All the excuses of the day trotted out for this pish. “Oh it’s a semi final, neutral venue they deserve 50/50”

Birthday card pish, only semi finals and finals that should be 50/50 are us and the beasts.
