How do we reverse this trend ?

Get rid of the group of players who have been at the club too long and are stinking the place out with failure.

Be better in the transfer market.
What group? 2 or 3 players?
Throw that comfort blanket to %^*& and just admit the common denominator is appointing diddy managers, Gerrard was the last manager we had, suck it up!

We need to be brutally honest for a start.

They have a really good mentality. It’s the truth.

We have a weak mentality but it’s individuals who stink the place out and have constantly failed in this fixture. Tav, Lundstram and Goldson who are our senior players have the weakest mentalities and constantly made game changing errors in these games.

Lose some of the players who's rangers careers have gone stale and refresh the squad with younger, hungrier players. Cortes would be a good start. I saw enough from him to believe he's someone that would not shrink in a fixture like today. Hope we finalise that signing and hopefully thats the start of a squad refresh with players of a similar profile. Then we might just see a side with more energy and bite in these OF games especially.

I know the manager deserves time to bring in his own players but if I'm honest there is alarm bells going off concerning his performance.

We don't seem to have a style of play apart from lumping it forward and hoping for something to happen. I spent most of that game shouting at the telly about the amount of space they had in midfield and that was before the sending off.

Many on here spoke about packing the midfield and stopping them from playing yet our manager failed to see it. We don’t track runners and our passing is woeful at best. For me that's a worry.

If he continues with the Tav, Goldson experiment next season prepare for more of the same. I honestly don’t see us winning the cup final either. The tinks would probably rather play us than Hearts in the final, that's how bad we are.

Are you saying the players are fine, it’s the manager who has to go?

Scoring first would be a good start.

Since we won 1-0 (Helander, remember him?) in August 2021, there have been 14 Old Firm games.

They've scored first in 12 of those.

One of the two times we scored first was last season's 3-0 win, after the league was over.

Midfield.

Need some leadership and composure in there. Being able to control the ball properly or play a first time pass would be a start.

We dominated midfields with Gerrard until it was weakened in 2021 by signing Lundstram.
We could have Ferguson and Davis in there we ain’t dominating when it’s 2 against 3, Gerrard played the flat 3 and he Morelos and kent leading the press from the front

Every player OOC leaves in the summer along with Tav and Goldson. Build a back four who's sole purpose is the art of defending. That would be my preference starting next season.

Better quality players that are properly scouted , have a heart to fight for their position and to be able to cope with injuries.

At the second goal the wee Japanese guy that he's terrified of waltzed by him like he wasn't there, a proper "after you Claude" moment.
And we knew it was happening before kickoff. That’s the annoying part. The guy hasn’t the legs anymore, it’s not good for him or the supporters to shoehorn him in the team.

Money.

But when you’ve no money, you show desire and a will to win.

As fans, all we can ask is that the mentality is right. Show some character and heart as a minimum, that’s usually what turn underdogs (because let’s not kid ourselves, that where we are against them) into winners

Oh a winger goes by a fullback ONCE in a game and a ‘midfielder’ sticks it in his own net when he had so much time to do something else?

The
Out with the Old Firm games this year we have picked up more points than them.. For years we have been better than them in Europe yet every time we play them, especially at Park head its Deja Vu - what needs to change in the summer and what does Clement need to do/change ?
The difference between playing in Europe and the SPFL is the level of officiating. We’re playing against 12 men every game. Outwith our performance, that today was criminal by Collum. The penalty was a reversal of the Dessers supply to Roofe in the first OF game - yet on both these occasions Celtic benefit. Were judged and referred to a far different standard than them. It’s a closed shop, ran via influence, placement, PR and intimidation via 33% of our population.

Sort out recruitment. And stop signing overpayed mercenaries.
A core of diehard Rangers in coaching staff and on park would help too as they’ll know what it’s about.
Shankland, Miller and Armstrong would be a start I think.

Our full-backs can't defend, our defenders are pretty hopeless, most of our midfielders are slower than a week in jail, all our wingers are injured and our striker needs 5 chances to get a goal.

All of that needs sorted.

Better players. Not losing said players every few weeks to lengthy injuries. Would be a great start.

Actually having a cohesive strategy behind the scenes and implementing it. Haven't had one since Gerrard left and that's why we are a such a fucking mess. Koppen, gets the summer to make a good start on that front, who am I kidding, he'll need to make an incredible start. Not ideal, but we've got lingering issues that haven't been addressed for about 3 seasons because the guys leading the club have been fucking incompetent.

I get it, you're a Tav fan, if he's still here next season prepare for second place again. Nobody is excusing Lundstram, he's another loser, but if our full back(?) stops the ball coming in then the goal doesn't happen.

without a clear-out and a core of much better players nothing changes
This will require a significant spend!

We know what you are.
Good day.

Dessers and Silva applied themselves well enough today with very little backup from midfield.

If we had Gerrard's midfield today we get control of that match and win it.

Lundstram and Lawrence were nowhere near the standard required to win the midfield battle, and we lost it today at a whimper. When Raskin came on we were much better.

We need to sign some good players. It's going to cost money. Money we probably don't have. They're going get 60 mill for the CL. It's looking like a real uphill struggle as the financial disparity will tell more and more.
Feeling pretty downbeat at the moment.

Buy better players, who can handle the heat
Goldson, Balogun, Ridvan, Sima, Cortes and Danilo, all injured, are better than the ones who played today, replace Goldson and Balogun, along with Tav, Barisic, Lundstram, Wright, Roofe, Cantwell and Matondo with better players, and it’s a start.

We are the Manchester United of Scotland currently. Over-paid, under-performing players seeing off boss after boss, whilst flattering to deceive. False dawns followed by reverting to norm. I really dont know what needs to change, but im fucking fed the %^*& up of it.

Replace the leadership group with winners

They don’t even need to be established winners. They just need to have enough ability to win things.

Three summers ago the mentally challengeds signed an entire new team and hardly any of them were established winners.

Here we are three years on and they’ve won 3/3 leagues and 3/5 cups.

We just need to get rid of the losers and start signing players that are good enough.

Our recruitment has been abysmal for over three years now.

New players, new tactics and probably new manager as well tbh.
The problem there is, to get whole squad of new players will take more than a couple of windows, no matter the manager.

Bottom line is, we can't spend our way out of this, like when souness came. It took us a good part of the season to get up to speed under souness and the signs started to look good when Graham Roberts arrived. We lost the league easily the next season, but after getting more players in and a whole new team, the 9 in a row period started. It wasn't built in a day even with the money we spent. Any manager needs time, something many are not willing to give.

Especially with no away fans, dropping points in a home Old Firm is a disaster, it's not the away games that are our biggest issue.

Better quality players that are properly scouted , have a heart to fight for their position and to be able to cope with injuries.
It is always this. And not buying players with injury issues.

Also, next year is the last year of CL qualification, so chances are the financial gap will reduce.

A bit of stability with the manager wouldn't go amiss as well.

Better players with better preparation, improved fitness and somehow reduce our injury list. We’ve barely had a consistent team all season yet managed to claw ourselves back within contention of the league with only games to go.

We need to get behind one manager and stop changing year after year.

The major problem has been the same core of group of key players season after season providing the same results. It will be a major undertaking but this summer we need a new core to the team that is a level of mentality above what we have been used to seeing.
