If Atalanta win the Europa but drop 5th place in the league to Roma, they play tonight I think, then Benfica remain in the qualifying rounds and don't get an automatic spot as there is no longer an extra place. Brugge, as it stands, are currently second in Belgium 1 point behind Anderlecht with a game in hand. If they remain second, hoping they don't, and the above happens with Atalanta then we would find ourselves as 3rd highest seeds, they passed us in the knockouts, and likely have to beat either Benfica or Brugge in order to qualify. Preferably neither scenario happens obviously but it could still be the toughest qualifying we've faced to date considering we'd have to likely beat one of Lille, Twente, Fenerbahce or RB Salzburg before facing Benfica or Brugge. What I still have no clue about is what happens if Leverkusen win and Benfica do get the auto place in terms of who replaces them, if anyone.
