The EPL have already said they wont use VAR for keepers at penalty kicks, and will leave it to refs discretion
This and another example of how VAR will and ruin the game, trying to make an imperfect sport perfectThey should just allow goalies to move if they want ffs its a daft rule
NoAren't they also making penalties the same as a penalty shoot out? So theres going to be no rebounds?
It improves the chances of a decision being made correctly.

It's not the worst idea. They should have a 1 yard box around the goals and provided the keeper is in that when the ball is struck it's fine.
It's a lottery without VAR and a license for cheating with Scottish ref's.
By the letter of the law they should. Is it a yellow if they move? Did she move the second time?
I know it was scored but if they can get booked for moving and saving it, can they get booked if they move and don’t save it?
Bang on the same corrupt c#nts would be in charge of VAR.why will it change with VAR? take the cup final, the poet dives for the penalty which the CO could easily have cited him for, but zilch. That wont change with VAR, it will still be mentally challengeds making it up as they go along.
Have to be static on the goal-lineWill keepers be able to start from behind the line to get the momentum?
Or do the have to be static on the line.
They should have a 1 yard box around the goals and provided the keeper is in that when the ball is struck it's fine.
Jeez, what a mindless analogy.
One of the general issues with VAR is that it doesn't exist at every ground and in every game. Rules are now dividing the sport. That shouldn't be the case.
Hardly the same thing and a tad offensive mate.
As for VAR I don't know anyone who likes what it has become...it was to be used sparingly and for 'obvious errors' and now it's stopping EVERY game for long spells to look at issues invisible to the naked eye.
Don't agree with that at all mate. The starting position should be the goal line and if they go beyond a further line there can be no complaints.Th
They would just stand at the edge of that and try to get even closer. As long as there is a line, it might as well be the goal line.
Or maybe no more than 3 step run up to take penalty and no stopping once run up begins
Side to side yes, not off their line. They should just allow goalies to move if they want ffs its a daft rule

There’s a heartbreaking post in the lounge about a husband losing a wife to that disease. To trivialise it in this manner is crass beyond belief.
Stupid post.
Was proven as fake news, they talked about it but it was never coming into force.https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.ma...ball/2019/03/02/5c7acb0f22601d49788b45cc.html
Well this says otherwise
I disagree it's not the VAR it's how it is used and implemented, that penalty against Scotland, seriously 5 or 6 looking at monitors then the ref takes an age to make a decision while looking at a monitor.VAR is woefully unsuited to football.
A goalie could easily be red carded - once for any foul then for moving before penalty is taken. Chaos may well ensue.
Ah right , never heard anything again after it was first brought up , just assumed it was being brought in , glad it isn't!Was proven as fake news, they talked about it but it was never coming into force.

Penalties in the SPFL will work along the lines of Rangers retake until they miss and if the Soap Dodgers miss then it’s an automatic retake

I like the idea although id say A yard is too much. They should have a 1 yard box around the goals and provided the keeper is in that when the ball is struck it's fine.
Not just errors though. Too much cheating, diving etc too. Football is already broken for me. No honesty left or very little and it gets you nowhere.Disagree, far too many high profile, game-changing errors were being made.
VAR will take time to bed in and will evolve. Yes there will be mistakes initially or delays but we need to understand that. It is for the greater good.
Cheating and diving still needs addressed. Not just errors though. Too much cheating, diving etc too. Football is already broken for me. No honesty left or very little and it gets you nowhere.
