I still reckon we're the best football side in the country

People don’t half clutch at straws at times.
”Best football side in the county”.
”We have more points now that at the same stage in whatever year we won the league”

Fantastic, do we get medals for these accolades?

We go on about players not having the winning mentality but too many fans have turned into absolute losers as well.
 
The better team is the one that can handle the pressure. The one that can go on a 10 game winning run. It's not good enough to win a game against them. That's like Killie or Hearts beating us. Does that make them better than us? Of course it does not.
League position is a good indicator of who are the better team.
Folk really need to get real and bring their heads out the sand.
 
We've played a few good games. We have struggled against the dross all season. We are nowhere near good enough. This post could have been written by a hearts fan.
 
We have some very talented players and are capable of playing excellent football. Only problem is since the winter break we have only really played well for 30 minutes against Braga.
 
Football ability takes you so far the right mentality makes you a winner,We are seriously lacking in the latter.

It’s about winning and they are winners. They’re the scum of the earth but that doesn’t change that they are winning 9 for the sec time in my life and looking odds on for a 4th treble. So how they play isn’t relevant.
 
Our style of play that Gerrard wants doesn’t work when the other team doesn’t attack us.

that’s probably why we’ve had results against teams in Europe and the tims.

We over complicate things against the “lesser” teams at time. Need to be more direct .
 
in defence of the original poster, were getting there. and we do look good at times. consistency wins you leagues though. no point scudding the scum at their midden and then losing to the dross the weeks following.
 
I believe that just like this time last year, we are not playing the best football in the country, not even close.
 
Much like the John Greig era, when we occasionally played them off the park, could beat some of the best sides in Europe, but couldn't win the League. JG got about 5 years. SG won't get anywhere near that.

Oh how we laughed from our lofty perch when they would come out with the same laughable merde as the op, the only difference between then & now is that the comfort blanket is a different colour.
