If it’s a penalty shootout tomorrow

Just based that on looking at the others
Don’t see Goldson or Bassey as players who strike dead balls that much
Kent has many skills but again dead ball striking isn’t one I’ve seen.
Aribo I like a lot but not sure he’s got the mental capacity for that situation
Kamara is void of the goalscorers instinct despite being a great footballer

Genuinely don’t think Jack is better than Kamara at finishing. Most of his shots are incredibly tame. Would be scared of Jack taking one. Would certainly go Kent and Kamara before him, Davis if he comes on too.

Not sure anyone can select ahead of the game tbh. GvB will doubtless decide on the night... looking at who's got the legs / character.

I'm not sure my nerves could stand a shoot out.

I don’t think my ticker could handle penalties.
I am struggling to think of 5 players that would still be on the park after 120 mins to take a penalty. The likes of Roofe and Barisic would probably be off by that point.

1 Tav
2 Lundrtram
3 Davis
4 Goldson
5 Sakala/Arfield

If it goes to pens I reckon Goldson would take one (would fancy him to step up)

Also Kent, our 'big' player has to be there surely.

Not sure I share the confidence on Goldson, liable to put it over the bar.

It wouldn't be a surprise, though, if it goes to penalties.

Hope it doesn’t come to it and we are through before then.

But JACK??? Ffs. Love him but strikes the baw like a wee lassie.

Maybe get Jason Holt back for it? Makes Jack look like Albertz.

When it looked possibly penalties against Braga, there was only Tav on the pitch I had any confidence in.

I'd bite your hand off right now for penalties given we start a goal down.

God knows who would take them, a few of the players I would think best suited are unlikely to last 120 minutes.

Roofe, Jack, Barisic all came off in the Hampden semi final before the end of extra time.

Jack? :D

Tav, Borna, Roofe, Ramsey, Aribo, Kamara, Goldson, Bassey, Sakala would all surely be ahead of him.

I just hope we’ve done an incredible amount of preparation for this very scenario.
You can bet the Germans will be a very well oiled machine with all of their kickers super confident of scoring.
That’s the German way.
We have to scream our support during penalties especially when they are taking them.
People who say you can’t practice penalties are talking out of their bums.
You can completely practice one breaking it all down into preparation and execution.
I think the most likely outcome is penalties.
A 1-0 or 2-1 win for us leads us exactly to this scenario.
Tomorrow night will be a huge rollercoaster ride for us all.
I think we’ll win 3-2 on penalties.

I’m convinced we’re going to replicate Fiorentina and win on pens but only after Tav misses the first. Fashion to be the hero.

If we won the toss would we do it at the traditional Rangers end or up where the Union Bears sit?
I’d go for the Copland but I can’t see me being able to watch by then.
If we won the toss we'd choose to go first surely?

My genuine reaction to the thread title is...

I will be leaving the stadium and running as far away from it as I can!

If we won the toss we'd choose to go first surely?
Yes I think a study has been done that scientifically proves that the team that starts penalty shootouts tend to do better.
On that basis getting the first kick in is critical.
All the small gains will make a difference.
Like choose a corner and stick with it.
Reject those ridiculous taps down the middle, there’s simply too much at stake here.
Fail to plan, then plan to fail

Out of those likely to be on the park after extra time
Tav
Sakala
Davis
Lundstram
Arfield

Just the 5 penalties? What about sudden death?

Imagine McGregor saving from the Leipzig keeper then sticking his pen in the top corner.

11-10.
