He has to win something this year, it’s as simple as that. If he doesn’t, he has to go.
Not at all.
Say we sack him at end of season.
Question 1 - who do we bring in to replace him?
Question 2 - He will want his own squad and players and require a small rebuild - Do we have time to rebuild?
Question 3 - Is he gonna be a guaranteed success and win the league?
Question 4 - Will he be better than Gerrard?
If your answer to any of these questions is "no" or "don't know", then the answer is simple - we stick with Gerrard who has brought us far and on current form despite the losses, we would be looking at a league win by some distance. We don't sack managers simply because they were unfortunate, we sack them because they were bad - and Gerrard is far from a bad manager.
However saying that, Gerrard has problems and issues with his management, many of which are posted already - But he is not a bad manager. A bad manager would be Pedro, Ally. Not Gerrard - he's a rookie and has a lot to learn, but he is very good and will only improve.
Where rangers were before Gerrard, to be quite honest - we should in no way, shape or form be challenging for the title this soon. Yet here we are. That says enough and is enough evidence that Gerrard is the man for us.
Gerrard should only be considered being sacked if we genuinely have a poor season, and so far under Gerrard, we haven't yet, despite no trophies (which we were cheated out of, might I add). Sacking Gerrard because of our referee's were corrupt and refused us a trophy is exactly what they want us to do.
